Her words humbled him and made his emotions swell. “And you’re the only one I want, the only one I need. There will never be another woman for me. Just you,” he said. At the same time, he eased his erection into her sweet warmth, groaning as her tight walls clamped down on him. He thrust in and out with long, deliberate strokes, going deeper each time. His hands roamed possessively over her body as he whispered tender endearments in her ear. He gasped as her feminine muscles clutched him tighter. Hunter rocked into her over and over, varying the length of his strokes, but keeping the same languid tempo. Taking his time and recapturing the love they once shared.
She arched upward and wrapped her legs around him, digging her heels into his back. “Don’t stop.”
“I missed being inside of you like this. I could stay here forever.” No other woman came close to making him feel the way she did. Soon, his pace increased, his thrusts deepened and he could sense her on the verge of another orgasm. “Come with me, baby.” Her nails dug into his chest and shoulders, and their blended cries echoed throughout the room.
Abruptly, she let out a high-pitched scream as she climaxed all around him, her feminine muscles clenching him tight.
Hunter gripped her hips and growled hoarsely as an explosive orgasm ripped through him with a force that stole his breath and left his entire body shaking. He held her tightly as they both shuddered with the aftershocks. At length their breathing slowed. He rolled to his side, taking her with him. He closed his eyes and idly ran his hands up and down her back.
“Hunter?”
“Hmm.”
“How long are you going to stay in California? Are you planning to move back home soon?”
He weighed his words carefully. “I’m going to continue commuting for a while, but I had eventually hoped to stay in LA permanently.”
“Where does that leave me? And us?”
“Exactly where you are right now. With me. You asked me when I’d purchased the house during your visit to LA and I told you I had just bought it the month before our wedding was supposed to take place. What I didn’t tell you is that I’d bought it for you. It was my wedding gift to you.”
Michaela sat up straight. “What did you just say?”
A smile curved his lips. “The house is for you. Do you remember what you said during our weekend getaway there two years ago?”
She eyed him. “No, but apparently you do, since you seem to remember everything I say. I need to watch my mouth around you.” He tickled her and she slapped his hand away. “Stop it and just tell me,” she said, laughing.
“You said you wouldn’t mind moving to LA because of the greater opportunities for art and you loved the beaches.”
“That’s still true, but what about my job?”
“What about your art?” he countered. “You said that was your dream.”
“It is.”
“Do you know who Monte is?”
Michaela angled her head. “Is that a trick question? The R&B singer and producer. Of course I know who Monte is with his fine a—.”
Hunter narrowed his eyes. “Excuse me?”
She cleared her throat. “I mean the man can really sing. Um…so what about him?”
“I talked to Eric yesterday and Monte is producing his band’s album.”
“That’s great for Eric, but what does that have to do with me?”
He sighed in exasperation. “If you stop interrupting me, I can finish.” She mimicked zipping her lips and he chuckled. “I don’t know what I’m going to do with you. Anyway, Monte’s wife is an artist and Monte said he’d be more than happy to arrange for the two of you to meet and talk.”
Michaela’s eyes widened and her mouth fell open. She slowly brought her hands to her mouth and fell back against the pillows. Then she popped back up. “Are youkidding me? This isn’t a joke, right, Hunter?”
“I wouldn’t do that to you, baby. I have his number and we can call to set up a visit whenever you’re ready.”
“I’m readynow,” she said, grinning and bouncing up and down like an excited kid.
He exploded with laughter. Seeing her happy made everything in his world right again. She was his. Forever.
