“Ended up being fine.” I smile down at her.
“Oh, good. I’m glad.” Her finger traces the dips and valleys of my abdomen, curling up and exploring my chest and the tattoos inked like a Van Gogh. With every swirl, she dips lower towards my Adonis V, and my eyes close at the touch.
“Maddie—what are you—“ I manage, my pupils dilating and my breath heavy until Maddie’s lips capture mine, and breath evades me. Her hand slips into my gym shorts, and warmth envelops my dick.
I shudder for half a second before a growl threatens to rip out of me in response to her touch.
Mine. Mine. Mine.
“Shit, Buttercup—“
She drags her teeth along my bottom lip. “If you enjoy watching me rub stuff out, it might as well be something fun,” she whispers before finding my nipple with her tongue.
She pumps harder, and any hope I had of playing this cool flies away. She has me in the literal palm of her hand.
She continues kissing down my sternum until she reaches my shorts. Her finger hooks into my elastic band, and she pulls it down and kisses the tip of my erection before taking it in her mouth. The heat of her, seeing her with her eyelashes fluttering in front of me. It shatters something inside of me.
“Shit, Maddie, if you do that, I’m going to—“
Worship you forever.
The thought suffocates the warmth curling through my body. Alternate Reality Maddie or not, any Maddie is too dangerous to my system. My heart is liable to get attached, and I’m not the endgame. I have to remember that. I’ve been the guy in love that gets left behind too many times. The power shift needs to be fixed fast.
“What the fuck? Seriously, on the counter, guys? I have to eat there.” A loud, harsh groan stops us both, saving me. Connor stands in the hallway with a scowl directed at us beneath thick-rimmed glasses.
Maddie pulls her hand and mouth away with a cute little “oops” and an accompanying giggle that plucks at the heartstrings of the caveman I bury deep down inside, begging to flip her over my shoulder and march her into her bedroom.
Connor’s frown flattens as he stares at her, morphing from anger into something resembling disappointment.
He’s in love with her already.
Jealousy incinerates any good feelings that gathered inside.
Mine. Mine. Mine.
Well, that’s not alarming or problematic or anything.
“Sorry!” Maddie giggles again. “I was just—we were—”
“Yeah, while I’d love to hear what excuse you’re trying to make, Mads, we’re running late for class.”
“Right! Class!” She wipes a hand across her lips, and I groan.
Clearing my throat, I say, “I’ll walk her there if you want to get going. Maddie and I have to finish—”
“Buddy, you’re not finishing anything.” Connor shakes his head.
“He meant I need to finish getting the stain out of his shirt because I spilled my hot chocolate on it. But it’s a lost cause anyway.” She rolls her eyes and ruffles his hair, walking by. “Give me a few to change?”
“Yeah. Fine.” Connor’s shoulders collapse. His eyes follow her as she leaves the room.
“I’ll be right back, Aarons. Don’t let the abominable snowman intimidate you.” She calls down the hall. “Or you can join me.”
“Yeah, I’m the threat.” He snorts, shaking his head and glaring back at me.
I smile without saying another word and walk towards the bedroom, uninterested in an awkward staring contest. He stops me on my way with a hard hand on the shoulder. “Hurt her, and I swear to god, I’ll find a way to break both your arms.”
“Relax, we’re just having fun. No one’s getting attached.”
