Somewhere along the line, her and my father had finally become cordial with Black. They still wasn’t too fond of him, but he was tolerable. I never asked them to be best friends, so thiswas good enough for me. He was allowed to the house out of their love for me and Maaz. A little peace was all I asked.
“He did. It’s a place called Sizzling Cutlets. Have you heard of it?”
“I have and their cutlets are really good. Obasi and I have gone a few times. It was by reservation each time. It took months to get in at that place. He must’ve had a lot of thought behind this date night. I’m glad he’s showing you how special and beautiful you are,” she complimented.
“Thank you, Mama. Do you mind helping me into this dress? I’d hate to be late for this knowing Genesis put so much effort into it.”
“Sure baby. Are you ready now?” I nodded and she stepped behind me. “Are you happy, Che-Che? Like, really happy?”
They’d been worried for me but there was legit nothing to worry about now. Black showed his ass in the beginning but even before leaving my home he’d turned into a caring individual. I didn’t know how we would come back from the things that occurred, but God had other plans for us. I would choose this path a thousand times over as long as he was in it. To make things even better, I hadn’t had a flare or episode in months. He was the peace I’d desired.
“I am. He’s sweeter than he looks, but I understand why you and Dad are so standoffish with him. He’s not apologetic with words but the things he does for us says it all. He loves us, Mama.” I spoke those words with confidence. He voiced it often, but his actions matched every time.
“As long as you’re happy. I didn’t think you two could work but I see you smile and leave it alone. Interrupting your happiness won’t sit right with me. I love that he’s the one keeping your spirits up.”
“Me and you both. When you asked about a grandchild, I didn’t think I was handing one over so soon. I guess everyone won this round,” I jested.
“And Maaz is such a quiet and happy child. He just chills with us like he’s known us for lifetimes. Oh, Che-Che you did a wonderful job with him,” my mother praised.
“Yeah, he’s an angel for others, but he gives us hell. He’s spoiled already, Mama, I swear.”
“Let him be. That baby is a new addition to everyone’s lives. He can be spoiled. Alright baby girl, you’re all together back here.” She stepped to the front and gave me a once over. “Check yourself out and see what needs to be fixed.”
Turning around, I sashayed over to the large wall mirror behind me. I in fact had a shape built like a coke bottle. The baby weight filled me out nicely making my thighs thick and toned with breast that grew a size or two. I looked damned good, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that man ate me off the bone tonight.
“I do look good if I had to say so myself,” I boasted.
My mother chuckled and handed over a bottle of perfume. “Here, give yourself a few pumps. What accessories are you pairing with this ensemble?”
“Just a simple gold necklace. The dress draws enough attention so I can keep it light.” Seconds later, my mother was hooking it around my neck. It flowed with the fit. “See, simple. I’ll see you and Dad later, Mama. I’m gone.”
“Have fun baby, but not too much. Maaz is only two months old,” she advised.
Perfect timing if you ask me.
I decided to drive my all white Panamera. I figured why the hell not since I was already looking like a bad bitch. Moments after backing out my garage, I hit the road and was on my way to my man. The traffic was light, and the night was young. Theanticipation of seeing what I was about to receive couldn’t be contained.
Jazmine Sullivan and Ari Lennox had me feeling extra sexy as their voices boomed through my speakers. I sang along as I cruised the streets of Sage Springs. One green light after another was granted and I just kept a smile on my face the entire ride. I planned on fuckin’ that man so good tonight it wasn’t even funny. I missed his ass something serious.
Finally arriving at the destination, I pulled into the lot to see very few cars. For this place to be top notch and reservation only, it looked abandoned almost. The only thing that made me stay was spotting Black’s car. I parked beside his whip and climbed out of mine. I fixed what needed to be and gave myself once last glance before walking inside.
There wasn’t another soul in sight other than a tall light skin woman approaching me. She looked as if she was picked from a Victoria Secret catalog. Slim, and downright gorgeous. She wore what appeared to be a manager’s fit.
“Hi Cheyonne, I’m the owner Nova Carrington. We’ve been expecting you. Genesis took it upon himself of renting out the entire place for you and him to spend some time. If you can look at the menu, decide on your meal, and I’ll have the kitchen fix it up for you.”
“Oh, okay.” I took the menu from her and settled on a ribeye, asparagus, and steakhouse mac and cheese. I wasn’t really picky with food now that I was no longer a model. She took my order and disappeared.
I entered the room further and was hit with a trail of candles as well as rose petals. The deeper I got into the room the more petals filled the floor. I finally came around another corner where my man was sitting at an open booth in an all-black suit with no shirt underneath his blazer. Those tattoos I couldn’t stop tracing that night peaked at me causing my hormones to rage.
Damn baby.
I took him in from head to toe and instantly got wet accompanied by a pulsation I couldn’t control. It was like my body knew it was about to receive a hell of a token for granting him a kid. When our gazes locked in with one another, I saw nothing but a perfect mixture of love and lust behind his eyes. I was craved just as much as he was.
“Fuck. Come here, Brat!” he shouted with aggression. I was slightly confused on what just happened. It was like a switch flipped or something.
I crossed the room to try and calm him down. Tonight, was too beautiful to be at each other’s neck. “Baby, what’s wrong?” I questioned cuffing his face. I examined him trying to find the issue at hand.
“I thought I’d be able to handle this shit but fuck. You so goddamn fine man.” He grabbed my left hand and slid a diamond ring on it. “I had all this shit planned but seeing you in that dress got my fuckin’ dick hard and them six weeks over baby. I’m ready to swim. Marry a nigga and stay happy, aight?”
