“Where to first?” She linked her arm through mine, oblivious to the stares, the gawkers, and the ogling as we walked around. How did I become the luckiest motherfucker in the world? “You feeling like taking a turn at the swings? Or maybe the rollercoaster first?” Her plump lips twisted into that smile I loved so much. “I know, baby, you want a caramel ap—”

I didn’t let Jillian finish her sentence. Instead, I crushed my mouth to hers instead, wanting her to know just how much I was feeling at that exact moment. It took only a second for her to react, her slim fingers digging in the front of my shirt before she kissed me back, and when we broke apart, her eyes sparkled with something they hadn’t before.

“You know what it does to me when you call me baby.”

“Baby, baby, baby.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Say that again, Jilly, and I’ll flip you over my shoulder like a caveman and take you back to your place, and we’ll never make it through this damn carnival tonight.”

When she started to open her mouth, I slapped my hand over it playfully, and she giggled happily, only to lick my palm. My dick was hard in an instant. “You’re being awfully bad tonight,” I hissed into her ear, dropping my hand from her mouth.

“You going to punish me later?” Jillian hooked her arm around my waist.

Jesus, she was trying to kill me tonight. “Is that...is that something you’re into?” I felt my face burn as I spoke.

Jillian shrugged. “No, but I’d be willing to try anything with you.” She must have realized what she had said because her face immediately fell. “I didn’t...Hutch, no, I don’t want to do that.”

“It’s okay, Jills. Don’t forget my therapy. If and when I’m ready to try something like that, I’ll let you know. Now come on, let’s go try out the swings first.” I dropped my arm around her shoulders like it was the most natural thing in the world as we began to maneuver around the crowds of people. I was saving the Ferris wheel for the end of the night. I had big plans, and just the thought made me break out in a cold sweat despite the warm air that hung in the sky.

Jillian squeezed my side as we walked, and when she leaned into me while we waited in line, I realized just how happy this made me. We had a lot of things to work out, and a lot more to talk through, but I knew that we were meant for one another. Even after all this time.

Chapter Thirty-Two

Jillian

“My Instagram is reallyblowing up.” I glanced up from my phone to find Hutch dragging his tongue over his caramel apple with a smirk on his face. White-hot desire made me squeeze my thighs, and I rolled my eyes. “Really?” I twisted my lips.

His smirk only widened across his handsome face. “Don’t think I didn’t notice the way you watched me,” he teased. “Wish it was you, Jilly?”

“Yes,” I barked and lowered my eyes. “Stop it, Hutch, or I’m going to have to pull you into the ladies room to have my way with you,” I warned. My phone blinked again with another Instagram notification. “People have questions,” I told him, trying to change the subject.

“What people?” Hutch asked, wiping his fingers with a napkin. “What kind of questions?”

I unlocked my phone and chuckled softly. “Rand wants to know when the fuck this happened, and is this why you aren’t returning his calls or texts.” I glanced up to find Hutch rolling his eyes. “Brooklyn replied with the heart eye emoji; Jo said I’d better text her tomorrow because she’d end me if I don’t, and Knox—”

“You’re fucking friends with Knox Carson?” Hutch snarled.
