Ty searches my eyes. “Are you okay with that?”
“Are you kidding? I thought getting the house was going to be the best thing that happened today, but this.” I lean down and kiss his stomach through his shirt then look back up at him. “You actually have my baby growing inside you. Words can’t describe how happy it makes me. It was the one thing I knew you wanted but couldn’t give you.”
“And yet, here we are.”
“In part, thanks to Mom and Dad.” I tilt my head to the side, holding his gaze. “You don’t seem happy.”
“I’m afraid to be. What if it’s not real? What if it is and something happens and I lose the baby? What if it turns out my body can’t handle it?”
“One day at a time, babe. We’ll find a good doctor, and take it one day at a time. And in nine months, you and I are gonna be dads.”
Tyler presses his lips into a tight smile. “So, all this means that we’re mated and you’re my alpha?”
“And you’re my omega. For life.” I can’t help my stupid grin. “Call me crazy, but I really like the sound of that.”
“Yeah, me too.” Ty’s lips curve into a bigger smile. “I love you, Alex.”
“I love you too.” I capture him in a short, sweet kiss. “So, ready to be gushed over for an entire afternoon? We are having a baby, after all.”
Tyler huffs a laugh. “As long as you’re with me, I think I can handle it.”
“Never leaving your side, Ty.”
