Yet Thea walked into my life, not once questioning or pushing me on anything, and became my firstactualfriend in years. What anyone else thought of her or our friendship hadn’t once crossed my mind because no matter what, I enjoy being around her.

“Sooo… Which is it?” Thea questions, pulling me from my thoughts.

Glancing around and finding that we’re relatively alone, I focus on the rack in front of me while I answer her.

“The second thing.” I whisper, knowing without a doubt my entire face and neck are redder than a tomato.

Thea squeals loudly, earning a glare from the older woman on the opposite side of the store as the cashier jumps up in surprise.

“Finally! Holy shit, tell me everything. How was he? Is he huge? How many times did he make you—”

“Thea!!” I exclaim, cutting her off and burying my face in my hands.

“Kat! Come on, I have been waiting for the tension to snap between the two of you formonths! You can’t just leave me hanging.” She pleads.

I laugh and turn back to the rack with a smile on my face.

“You get one of those answers now. The others require atleasttwo margaritas if you want them answered.”

From the corner of my eye, I watch as she stares at me, her mouth hanging open while she processes what I said.

“Fine… the last one. How many times did he,” She pauses, smiling sweetly at the woman walking past us toward the fitting room. Once she’s out of ear shot, Thea continues. “Make you see stars.”

Shaking my head while pulling a blue dress from the hook to hold out in front of me, I remind myself to be grateful she didn’t ask about how big he is again.

“Three times.” I pause, glancing at her over my shoulder with furrowed brows. “Well, technically four by the end of the day.”

Thea stands there, mouth hanging open as she stares at me in disbelief for a minute before shaking herself out of it.

“That’s just not fair. Not only does he look fine as hell, but he also knows his way around the female body.” She sighs dramatically, reaching for the black dress that hangs in front of her. “I’d kill for a man who could give meoneorgasm right now.”

“What about the guy from the bar a few weeks ago?”

“Who, Coop?” She questions, abandoning the rack she was at and moving onto the next.

“Yeah, it seemed like he was into you.”

For what seems like the first time, Thea blushes.

“No. I mean, I don’t know. It’s not like that.” She rushes out and I raise a brow, turning to face her. She rolls her eyes and pulls out a beautiful, floor length, scarlet red dress. “In the wise words of you, that answer requires at least two margaritas.”

“Sounds like we’re making a stop at the liquor store on our way back.”

She laughs, turning the dress to check out the back before holding it up in front of me. “You need to try this one on. Right now.”

I take the dress from her, checking the size and holding it up.

“I don’t know, it seems like it might cut down a bit too far.”

Thea shakes her head, looping her arm through mine and practically dragging me toward the fitting room.

“Nope, trust me. It’s gonna be perfect.” She says with a confident smile.

Considering she was right about the last dress she picked out for me, color and everything. None of my old dresses were ever red, I often favored pastels and neutral colors.

Glancing down at the fabric in my hand, I can’t help but smile.
