Sweat dripped down my back, my hair was drenched, and my clothes clung to me.
Mother hell.My clit was swollen hard, pulsing, dying for relief.
Damn vampire.I couldn’t even get away from him in my dreams, yet I pouted at the fact that I’d woken up. I took a few calming breaths, scolding myself for fantasizing about a vampire. I was going to hell.
I wiped the sleep from my eyes and swung my legs over the bed, throwing my head in my hands as my body ached for Sam.
Not going to happen.
Instead, I could easily take care of myself, but not there.
Rianne was sound asleep in her bed on the other side of the room. I decided a shower would cool me off until I glanced at the clock on the wall.
Eleven p.m.Shit!
I hopped up quickly. My sexual needs dissipated as my brain kicked into gear. Jordyn? Did the SEAL team find her?
I spotted a pile of clothes on the cushioned chair.
Harley must’ve dropped them off. I picked through the stack—dark jeans, a white camisole top, a thick blue V-neck sweater that was soft to the touch, and brand-new undergarments. I smiled as I examined the matching pink lace bra and panties.
She had good taste. The sweater alone looked expensive. Underneath the pile was a note:Hope these fit. Also, no news yet on your sister. The team is still surveilling your neighbor’s home. See you in the morning. Harley.
I had no idea when she’d left the note, but maybe they’d found where Roman was keeping Jordyn.
First, I needed a quick shower, then I could find my way down to the control room.
I grabbed the clothes and was ready to hit the shower when I stilled. I needed something to protect me. After all, I was in a building full of vampires. At that realization, I shivered as I quietly picked up the butter knife that had been on the food tray. It would barely harm a vampire, but it would at least do some damage and give me time to run.
I proceeded to tiptoe out, careful not to wake Rianne. Once in the hall, I looked to my left and then right. I didn’t see any signs for a restroom. Harley had said it was down the hall, but I didn’t know which way.
The exit sign glowed up ahead, and suddenly my mind was right back in my dream. The dark hallway, the candlelit bedroom, Sam naked and ready to screw my brains out.
My feet were on the move toward the exit. My legs scurried along like I was heading toward something exciting and thrilling like an amusement park I’d loved to frequent as a kid.
I was ten feet from the exit when my brain finally fired on all cylinders, and I stopped.
No, I’m not going up. I’m not giving in.
Icy fingers tiptoed down my spine. Suddenly, I felt as though Sam were next to me, breathing on my ear, touching me lightly as he dragged his fingers along the swell of my breasts.
No. No. No.I was not about to have another vision. I shook my head and pivoted on my heel when the squeak of the door echoed in the hall. My blood instantly froze. My limbs were locked tight. His spicy scent drifted in. I didn’t have to turn around to know Sam was behind me as his footsteps pounded on the tiled floor.
I should move but couldn’t and didn’t want to. I gripped the knife tighter as I held the bundle of clothes to me as though they would protect me. That crushing force in my dream wasn’t a wall in real life—it was Sam’s solid wall of muscle pressing into me. His hands shaped my hips. His mouth was on my ear, his damp hair tickling my neck.
“Were you coming to see me?” His voice sounded sexy and sleepy and full of desperation.
Yes. No.“I was looking for the bathroom.”
“Yeah, I bet.” He licked my neck, eliciting a string of goose bumps.
Damn vampire. The pulsing in my core was too much, and if I didn’t do something about it soon, I would definitely give in to him.
“You’re on the wrong side of the hall.” I could feel his grin against my sensitive flesh behind my ear.
“I’m lost,” I whispered in a breathy tone.
“So am I.”
