“No, but you are. Breaking into the bathroom. Rifling through my shit. Trying to steal my phone. Not giving it back when you’re caught. Flipping out because we’re going to an aquarium with our friends. It’s anaquarium, Joss. There are a million other things to look at and do while you’re there. You wouldn’t even have to interact with me. And if you hadn’t snuck into the bathroom, you wouldn’t be seeing me naked either. So get a grip.”

I manage to blink enough to see again, and he’s standing just outside the stream of water on the other side of the shower glowering at me. His towel is hanging on by a thread and the deep vees of his hips and the light blond trail of hair over his abdomen are distracting the fuck out of me—leading my eyes down to where he’s still obviously hard. I raise a brow at him because if this is turning him on, he really has changed.

“Oh, I’ll get a grip.” I push off the wall of the shower and slide my hand down the front of his towel. “Is this where you need me to get a grip?”

His blue eyes light with a warning look, and he pushes me back up against the tiles again, one hand on my hip and his other hand wrapping around a fistful of my hair as his eyes search my face.

“I don’t know. Is this where you need mine?”

“Maybe.” We stare at each other for a minute and then I finally break. “I hate that they like you so much. I never get to see them and when I finally do suddenly you have to be everywhere. At Ben’s party. At the aquarium. At his games.”

“Athisgames…” He lets out a derisive laugh. “I’m the fucking quarterback.”

“It’s annoying!”

“I’ll be sure to tell them you think so.”

“Don’t you dare.”

“You were going to tell Violet anyway when you texted her, right? So what’s the problem?”

“Ben. He wants me to get along with you.”

“So why can’t we just get along? I’ve been playing nice.”

“You’re not playing nice. You’re pretending to be nice when it’s convenient. The rest of the time you’re glowering, slamming me against shower walls, and asking for nudes.”

“Tasteful nudes.” His eyes drift down over my body. “I just think if you’re going to make me do it, you should know what it feels like first.”

“Right. I’m sure. Is that your plan here with me being in the shower?”

“There was no plan here. You just drive me fucking insane.”

“Trust me. I’ve learned my lesson. I won’t accidentally text you again.”

“You’re being ridiculous. We’re grown-ups, Joss. We had a thing once a million years ago. We can be normal and share time with our best friends.”

“I’m being ridiculous?” I scoff. “You’re the one running around half-naked chasing me.”

“Because you’re stealing things.”

“I didn’t steal, I just borrowed.” I flash an innocent look in his direction.

“Borrowed…” A smug smile forms on his lips. “Don’t borrow things from me, and we’ll be fine.”

“I’ll take it into consideration. So what were you thinking about in the shower?” I smirk.

He grins at the space on the floor between us and then his eyes lift slowly to meet mine, with that half-lidded gorgeous deep blue stare that only he has. His hand tightens around the fistful of hair, and he pulls it back as he stands taller, narrowing the gap between us as he brings his lips to my ear.

“How much I’d like to see you on your knees. If we didn’t have somewhere to be, I’d put you there now.”

I feel my stomach flip and the flicker of want blooms in its place. This new Colt is dangerous. To my sanity and any hope I have of reformation. Because I just want to fall back into every single bad habit with him.

He smiles as he studies my face. “I thought you’d like that.”

“There are other things I’d like.”

“Like not getting caught by Ben or Violet?”
