“Tell me who’s coming to dinner, and I’ll stop.” He continued to tickle her, enjoying the musical sound of her laughter and the way her eyes crinkled with joy and delight.
“Never!” She barely got the word out, too winded from shrieking.
“What’s going on in there?” Angel called from the kitchen. “You two better not be fooling around next to my Astbury Black Wedgwood plates!”
“Help me!” Jessi called back. “Before he breaks something!”
Tommy froze for a second, because he knew he’d be in deep shit if anything happened to Angel’s precious china, which cost an absurd amount of money, but he realized it was a ploy on Jessi’s part to escape. His fingers resumed their tickle attack, thwarting her getaway just as a towel snapped Tommy in the ass. His pelvis automatically jutted forward, which caused his hips to flatten Jessi against the table.
Her laughter immediately stopped, and he thought it was because the china shook when they bumped the table, but then he saw the sensual allure in her eyes and her parted lips.
“Oh.” The word came out in a throaty whisper. “Please do that again,” she told Angel, over Tommy’s shoulder.
Angel threw the dish towel onto the floor and sauntered up behind Tommy. His hands skimmed Tommy’s waist and then rested on Jessi’s hips. In one quick jolt, he tugged Jessi forward, effectively sandwiching Tommy between his spouses. Their bodies were pressed together without a sliver of space between them, and Tommy felt the friction in front and in back. It was his favorite position.
While Angel’s hands caressed Jessi’s torso and held their bodies together, his mouth blew the hair off Tommy’s neck so he could nuzzle it with his lips, causing a myriad of sensations to run over Tommy’s flesh. For a moment, Tommy thought the three of them would end up on the dining room table, Astbury Black Wedgwood china be damned. But Jessi was the voice of reason.
“Slow down,” she warned, even though she was still pressing her breasts against Tommy’s chest and brushing her lips against his.
“Why?” Tommy asked, between wet, succulent kisses.
“Because, we have a dinner guest that’ll be here any minute.”
“Let them wait,” Tommy said, with his mouth against her neck.
“The kids can walk in on us any second.”
That got Tommy and Angel’s attention, and they both took a step back and adjusted themselves in their jeans. Angel had to snake his arm under his apron, and Tommy smiled at the slogan which bore an image of a large wooden spoon and the words, “Wanna spoon?”
“We’ll just have to pick up with this after dessert,” Jessi said, as she fixed her top, which had been pushed up to just under her boobs during the tickle fight that turned into an erotic make out session.
Tommy helped Jessi finish arranging the silverware and napkins while Angel returned to the kitchen. When they were done, they stood with their arms around each other’s waist and admired the table. “It looks like we’re having Christmas dinner,” Tommy commented. They never had anything this fancy, and the lone added place setting made him wonder who garnered the royal treatment. He was about to press Jessi for an answer again, but the doorbell rang. He started toward it, but before he got there, Lucas and Tessa ran down the stairs shouting, “Uncle Robert! Uncle Robert!”
“My brother?” Tommy stopped dead. The NFL had just started pre-season games. Although Tommy had no idea which city Robert should be in right now, he knew it wasn’t New York, so the visit came as a complete surprise, and he couldn’t be happier about seeing his younger brother.
When they were kids, they’d been inseparable, but now they were grown men with hectic schedules and different agendas. Both had successful careers that took them all over the country and achieved amazing success. He only wished they were part of each other’s lives on a daily basis again. It pained his heart that they didn’t spend more time together, and he realized he had something to put on his bucket list. Although it really wasn’t something he considered a momentous achievement or anything he could add to his list of accolades, it was a personal goal.
When Tommy opened the door, he couldn’t believe Robert stood in front of him wearing a smile that stretched to both ends of the country. The two bumped their chests together, something they’d been doing since they were teenagers, and then embraced in a big bear hug, complete with slaps on the back, while the kids shouted their greetings from below.
“Great to see you, bro,” Robert said, giving Tommy an extra squeeze before letting go. He bent down and lifted Lucas and Tessa in one swoop. They wrapped their little arms around his neck and suffocated him in hugs.
“What are you doing here?” Tommy asked, then he realized his brother was still standing in the doorway and stepped aside. “Come in.”
“I got gifts for the kids.” Robert gently put the kids down on the marble landing next to two large boxes wrapped in gift paper. One was pink with unicorns and the other was blue with footballs, so the kids knew exactly which gift was theirs. They squealed with excitement, thanked Robert, and ran into the house with their presents.
“You didn’t have to do that,” Tommy said. “You spoil them.”
“They’re my only niece and nephew. It’s my duty as an uncle.”
Tommy still couldn’t believe Robert was here. He wrapped his arm around his brother’s shoulder and guided him inside. “Why the surprise visit?”
“I got an invite for dinner and begged Coach to let me come. I owe him one, because I never want to pass up a chance to visit my brother and his family.”
“Bienvenido, Roberto!” Angel shouted in greeting, and the two engaged in a warm-hearted hug. “I hope you’re hungry.”
“I am. I’ve been thinking about your home cooking for days,” Robert said, rubbing his stomach.
Jessi finally joined them and also hugged Robert. “I’m so glad you could make it.”
