Jeremy’s eyes darted back and forth, unsure why Alan was staring at him. “What?” he whispered.
Alan smiled wider and answered Miss Werthers’ question. “I just want to say one thing to him, the same thing I’ve been saying to him over and over again since the accident.” He turned back to Jeremy. “I love you, Jeremy, with all my heart. And I want everyone to know it.” He slid his hands over Jeremy’s shoulders and around his neck. The deep, penetrating kiss that Alan placed on Jeremy’s lips turned steamy and erotic as everyone watched. Alan pushed his fingers through Jeremy’s long hair and rotated his mouth against his lover’s, making the most of the spotlight. Flashes from the cameras went off like a strobe light, brightening the darkness behind Alan’s closed lids. There was an upheaval of excited gasps and a low murmur coming from the crowd, but Alan was lost in a bubble of bliss, with his lips pressed solidly against Jeremy’s.
“Uh, let’s not turn this into an R-rated press conference,” Derek said into his mic, followed by a small rumble of laughter from the room.
Alan smiled under their kiss and reluctantly pulled his lips away from Jeremy’s mouth. The flashes from the cameras nearly blinded him, and he squinted in the haze of white light.
“Let’s give ‘em a photo.” Jeremy slung his arm over Alan’s shoulder and pressed their cheeks together.
“I hope you don’t mind that I announced our relationship to everyone in front of the cameras,” Alan whispered, still smiling for the barrage of photos.
“Do I look mad?”
Jeremy wore a grin that practically split his face in two, and Alan chuckled. “You look insane.”
“Mr. Kagan, would you like to add anything to Alan’s statement?” Brittany Werthers asked.
“Yeah. I would. I’ve been waiting to say this for almost a decade.” Jeremy turned and stared directly into Twin Media’s camera lens. “Alan Motherfucking Delgado is my boyfriend, and I’ve been in love with him since I was 18 years old.”
The End.
