There is a pause, then in a quiet voice she says, “Harmony.”

Harmony. My heart does a little flip for some reason.

“So, Harmony, where is the first aid kit?” I ask.

She frowns. “I don’t know. This is my aunt’s place. I haven’t needed it yet...surprisingly,” she adds under her breath.

The girl lets out a big sigh then flops back on the sofa, then

puts a cushion over her face. “Try the bathroom,” she suggests.

“Help me look for it, Lennox?” I ask him. He’s already poking through all her things, so he might as well make him useful.

“The bathroom is under the stairs,” says Harmony, without taking the cushion from her face. “Or try under the kitchen sink.”

I can barely fit in the hobbit-sized bathroom, but manage to retrieve an ancient looking medical kit. Opening it up, a raft of dried up band-aids flutter out. Aside from that there is an empty ointment tube and some antacids.

“Yeah, not much to work with in here, sweetheart.”

HARMONY

Asa. Thor is called Asa.

Asa crouches down to my level again.

“Can I take you over to our place?” he asks me. “We’ve got every kind of first-aid imaginable over there. I can disinfect your scrapes, wrap your ankle?”

I move the cushion off my face and look at him.

Of the three men, Asa is the only one who is not terrifying. It could be because he’s wearing a faded Mr. Happy tee-shirt and cut-offs.

Hugo had been wearing gray sweats and a sweaty, white tee. The white tee is now currently on my body.

The other one is wearing a pair of black and bright pink running shorts, and an open, button down shirt with the sleeves torn off. His torso-full of tattoos is rippling with abs. He looks dangerous and cheeky at the same time.

I look down at my body. I’ve skinned my hands and knees. Dirt is ground into the mashed flesh. And my ankle hurts like a mother. It would be nice to get it all cleaned up properly…

But, shit.

Mercury Rising?

I’ll just have to be on my guard.

Resting my head back on the sofa, I close my eyes again. “OK, thanks. Take me to your place to clean up.”

I’m in the middle of nowhere, and the exact world that I am trying to avoid lives on my doorstep.

What are the effing chances?

LENNOX

“Do you want the door locked?” I ask the babe, as Asa swoops her up into his arms again.

Asa pauses, waiting for her instruction. I watch her face go through several emotions. She’ll chew her whole lip off if she’s not careful. Maybe she doesn’t want us to know where she keeps her key or something? She needn’t worry. I’ll wait for her to invite me in. It won’t take long I'm sure.

I saw her eyeing up my abs.

She’s not a groupie though. It actually seems like she is reluctant to be around us.
