“Really?”

I nodded. “Want me to see what’s available?”

“Would you?”

“Sure.” I pulled my phone from my pocket and called Ryan.

“Hello?” he answered.

“Hey, Bug,” I said. “You still planning to sell your old furniture?”

He sighed. “Yeah. I just keep forgetting to list it.”

“I might have a buyer. Interested in discussing it?”

“Really? Of course!”

“I’m going to hand the phone to my new roommate, Terry.”

“Ok.”

I held the phone out. “My cousin’s name is Ryan. I’ll let you two discuss what he has and haggle.”

“Thanks, man.”

“No prob. I’ll bring in more boxes while you talk.”

“Beer and pizza later?”

I laughed. “Beer yes, pizza no. I manage a pizza place so eat it all the time.”

“Beer and tacos?”

“Deal.”

Terry started talking to Ryan while I headed out to grab more boxes from his car.

“Slice of Heaven, how can I help you this afternoon?” I asked, picking up the phone while my hostess seated some waiting customers.

“I’d like to make an order for delivery please,” replied a smooth male voice.

I cradled the phone between my cheek and shoulder, then pulled up an order screen. “What can I get ya?”

“Two pepperoni feta, a pepperoni mushroom, and a supreme, all large, please.”

“Would you like to add wings or breadsticks?”

A moment of conversation from the other end, then, “Breadsticks.”

“Any drinks?”

“No thanks.”

“Ok, so I have two large pepperoni feta, a large pepperoni mushroom, a large supreme, and an order of breadsticks. Anything else?”

“That’s all.”
