‘Ha!Your agent would love that and you’d get a shitload of followers!Imagine: I’d go from not wanting to take any photos to appearing in pornographic ones.Don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet!’ I laughed, but Jake froze.

‘I hear voices!’ He jumped up, grabbed the towel from the hammock then threw it over me.

Jake just about managed to pull on his shorts and boxers and I yanked down my dress before the couple got closer.I couldn’t find my knickers, but at least my body was covered.

The sun had almost set, but it was still light enough for them to see us.

‘Oh!Hi!’ One of them waved, before walking towards us.

‘Hey!’ Jake said casually.‘You good?’

‘Yeah,’ the woman replied.‘Just thought we’d come for a… walk.’

‘Cool,’ I said, trying to act natural.‘We were just, er, watching the sunset.’

‘Nice,’ the guy replied, then smirked, his eyes darting to the ground near where Jake was standing.‘Well, we’ll let you get back to yoursunset watching,’ he winked.

His match’s gaze seemed to follow the same direction, but I didn’t dare look.

‘Thanks!Enjoy your walk.’

Once they’d left, I looked down to the spot they seemed to be staring at and gasped.

‘Something tells me they knew we weren’t here to watch the sunset,’ Jake smiled.

‘Yep,’ I said.‘And if they had any doubts, I reckon seeingthosewould’ve confirmed their suspicions.’

I pointed to the ripped condom packet innocently resting on the sand, right beside my knickers.

Busted.

HALLE

It was Tuesday morning and I was on my way to the hotel restaurant to grab breakfast.

We’d exhausted all the supplies in our villa’s kitchen and to be honest, neither of us could be arsed to cook, so it made sense to get a bunch of stuff to take back to eat.

When I’d left, Jake was still in bed.I think that all of the excitement of writing his first song for ages, not to mention our hammock activities, had tired him out.

I was so happy he’d gotten his writing mojo back.He credited me for helping him which was sweet, but I didn’t really do anything. All I did was listen and encourage him.I meant everything I’d said: I believed in him.He was so talented and I knew for a fact that he had a lot more hit singles ahead of him.

‘Hey, Halle,’ Sammie said as I walked into the restaurant.‘I was hoping to see you.’

‘Really?’

‘Yeah.I wondered if you could do me a favour?’

‘Course!What do you need?’

‘You do nails, right?’

‘Yeah…?’ I frowned.

‘Great! The nail technician in the spa is fully booked today, but I have an important meeting and I haven’t had time to do my nails and I want them to look nice, so I wondered if you could help me out?I know you’re on holiday so if it’s a hassle then I understand.I don’t want to put you out, it’s just that?—’

‘I’d love to!’ I jumped in, excitement fizzing in my stomach.‘I’d just need to check with Jake to see what our plans are for today first, so I can text you to let you know a time.Would that work?’
