“You gave up your whole life.”
“No, I gave up my zip code. Everything else I need is in Sunset Harbor.” His hold around my waist tightens as hislips quirk upward. “Some might say the move has been good for me.”
“And why is that?”
Swagger fills his blue eyes. “Just based on how well I did on the golf course last year.”
“I see you also come with a dose of humility.”
“Don’t act like you’ve had a crush on me for sixteen years because I was humble. You like my confident side.”
“Cockyside is how I would put it,” I tease.
“Well, lucky for you, I have a lot of hidden talents.” His hand around my waist tightens, bringing my chest closer to his. His voice is low and sultry. “Some of those talents I’ll show you later tonight.”
My head falls back with laughter. “You can’t even make it through our wedding dance without flirting with me.”
“Jane, I plan on flirting with you every day for the rest of my life, so you better get used to it.”
“Good.” I nuzzle in closer as we spin around together. “I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
My eyes catch a few guests as we spin around the floor. Betsy Barnes has her hand on her heart. Marlyss Gapmeyer smiles. Cat rests her head against Noah’s shoulder as they watch us.
“How much do you hate that everyone is looking at you right now?”
Walker pulls his head back to meet my gaze. “The most beautiful woman in the room is in my arms. They’re not looking at me. They’re looking at you. And then, they’re thinking,How on earth did Walker Collins get Jane Hayes?”
I squint my eyes playfully. “It’s a mystery even to me.”
My cheek rests against his for a few moments as we move in sync with the dreamy tone of the song. The music swells, and the string instruments crescendo into rhythmic swirls asthe song winds down to the last few measures. Walker spins me around three quick turns, matching the swirls of the violins. He pulls me forward and back a few times, then slows our movements as my mom holds out the last few words of the song.
The music finishes as Walker gently drops me back into a dip. I release my head and feel his warm lips at the base of my throat. The wedding guests cheer, and the song finishes as he pulls me back upright.
I look into his glimmering blue eyes, and I can’t believe this is my life.
Walker Collins is mine at last.
