Ivy
For two days now, Darius and I have been holed up in his penthouse playing house. We’ve made love in every room, and only leave the apartment long enough to take Midas for a walk or to grab takeout from somewhere in the neighborhood.
Darius is in the kitchen whipping us up a couple of omelets as I walk in, biting my tongue to keep myself from moaning at the sight of his perfectly sculpted bare ass standing in front of the range. When he turns to grab a spatula, I see that he’s only wearing a small apron instructing me to kiss the cook. He smiles at me, before turning to flip the eggs.
I walk up behind him and wrap my arms around his waist, letting my hands wander lower, exploring beneath the apron. My fingers tease his cock until it’s hard and he growls promises of delicious retribution when his hands aren’t busy.
We eat quickly, clean the kitchen together, and then take Midas for a walk, hand in hand. It feels very domestic, and my thoughts start to run wild, my nerves making me more reserved than usual.
When we stop at the dog park, letting Midas run free in the fenced field, Darius pulls me over to a vacant bench, wrappingan arm around my shoulders. “What’s wrong, babygirl. You’re quieter than usual today.” His smile offsets his concern, but I know he can sense a change in me.
“I’m just…” I let my sentence fade, unsure of how to tell him what I’m thinking without hurting him. “I love being with you, being your babygirl. But, I just don’t understand how this works long term. Right now we’re in a bubble. But I can’t just live with you indefinitely. I still have a home with my dad. Oh, mygod. My dad!” I bury my face in my hands, crying, knowing he’ll never accept this.
“Ivy, baby, we can tell whoever you want, whenever you want. This is real for me. You are it for me.” His reassurances help, but I’m still not sure where we go from here. He’s told me he loves me, and he talks about owning me, breeding me. But does that mean we’re going to get married eventually? Will he support my dreams or expect me to stay at home, waiting on him?
I confess my fears, except for the marriage one, not sure I’ll survive if his answer isn’t what I want, need to hear. His responses allay my fears, restoring my hope. We call Midas back to us and walk home together, feeling like a family again.
After lunch, I’m in the bedroom packing my overnight bag with the things I brought with me. As I’m taking it to the front door, I hear Darius yelling from the direction of his home office. I knock quietly on the door, pushing it open a fraction, seeing him pinch his brow as he closes his eyes and sighs at whoever is on the other end of the phone call.
I walk further into the luxurious office, the walls a midnight blue with beautiful glass-fronted wooden shelves on three walls. The fourth wall is fully glass, the sunset lighting the space with fiery hues. It suits him. It’s a masculine office for a powerful man.
He sees me walking toward him and moves his chair back, pulling me down onto his lap. Flipping my hair over one shoulder, his lips descend on my neck, sucking, nibbling, offering just enough pleasure to dull the pain, and I know I’ll have a hickey tomorrow. I turn my head, preparing to return the favor, when I catch a few words from the person on the line, my brow furrowing.
“I’ll call you back, Patti,” he says before hanging up without waiting for a reply. “What’s wrong, Ivy?” He toys with my hair, running it through his fingers.
“You’ve missed two days of work. For me.” He stares at me, confusion narrowing his eyes. “I don’t want that. I actually came in here to tell you that I’m heading back to dad’s. My bag is already packed.” I hop off his lap before his arms can ensnare me. “I’ll see you in a few days, Daddy. I love you.”
He follows me to the front door, arguing the whole way. I know I can’t stay, so I kiss him goodbye, leaving him stunned as the elevator door closes. I drive back to dad’s house slowly, realizing I didn’t refer to it as home to Darius or myself, wondering when I started thinking of the penthouse as home, rather than the house where I grew up.
I run to the neighbor’s to get Pudge before walking in the front door, dropping my clothes off in the laundry room and starting a load. Looking around, I realize that I don’t want to be here anymore, I want to be with Darius.
I take the next few days to go through my bedroom and start packing. I send dad a packed lunch, avoiding the office until I’m ready to admit the truth to everyone. Darius sends me frequent text messages and has dozens of gifts delivered to my door. Finally, when I close the door behind the latest delivery man, I groan and call him.
“Thank you, Daddy. I love all of my gifts. But you really shouldn’t have.” I sit on the couch, looking at the delicatediamond and white gold bracelet I just received. “I don’t need gifts, Darius. I just need you.”
“Then why the fuck aren’t you here with me, Ivy?” he growls, and I grin, knowing he wants me there as badly as I want to be.
“I told you. I’ll see you soon. Don’t they say that absence makes the heart grow fonder?” I tease, knowing my heart is already plenty fond of him.
“Absence definitely makes Daddy hornier,” he grumbles quietly. I can’t help the laugh that escapes me.
“I’ll be home soon,” I promise, hanging up the phone before he can ask how soon I can get there.
The weekend passed by quickly. Sirena and I saw a movie she’s been dying to see and ended up going out for a late dinner, sharing our most recent gossip. I could’ve sworn I saw Darius sitting at the bar as I passed to go to the restroom, but I convinced myself that I was seeing things because I missed him.
I’ve finally decided that today is the day. I’m going to take dad’s lunch to him and tell Darius that I’m ready to announce our relationship. As I walk into the building, I feel excited and ready for anything. Stopping at dad’s office, I talk to him for a few minutes, giving him evasive answers to the inevitable questions of my recent whereabouts.
While dad’s distracted, I make an excuse to leave, turning to walk toward Darius’s office. I make it a few steps down the hall before I’m tumbling over my feet, being dragged into a dark room. “Get off me! I have a boyfriend and he’ll enjoy kicking your ass!” I whisper loudly, thrilled when my fist elicits a groan from my abductor.
“Fuck, Ivy, calm down!” I immediately relax, Darius’s arm coming around me, his scent calming me. A light turns on and I see that we’re in a small, windowless room with an industrial copier and a work table, but not much else. The smell of toner permeates the air as I step away from Darius.
“You scared me half to death!” I exclaim, turning to jump into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist. “Oh, Daddy, I missed you so much!” I kiss him, dragging my tongue along his, submitting when he pulls my hair back, angling me where he wants me.
“Why the fuck did you stay away, babygirl? I need you.” He moves us further into the room, toward the copier.
“I needed time to figure everything out. But, I-I’m ready, Darius. Ready to let everyone know that I’m yours.”
“Yes!” he shouts, descending on my lips once more, moving to my neck, devouring me, licking from my ear to my shoulder. “I need you, Ivy. Right fucking now.” He sets me on the open copier, pulling my skirt up to my waist, ripping my panties from my body before stuffing them in his pocket.
