“I don’t know! I just- I have to figure something out.” Jacob frowned.

“I just- I guess I just have to trust things right now.”

“Trust away, you stupid fuck.” Teddy whispered.

Jacob sighed. He looked down at the ingredients in front of him. He

didn’t have as much here to work with as he’d like but he had enough. He

grabbed a couple spices and haphazardly put them together. Within

moments, he’d made the brew and contemplated.

As he created, his brain felt off. He wasn’t sure what he was making.

Was he wanting protection? Love? Support? Some ingredients said use me!

Others just felt wrong, but went in the brew anyway.

What he was left with when he was finished was sludge.

He wasn’t entirely sure what he’d made. He knew that he had to stay

hidden from Joe. He knew that he had to protect himself…but he also

didn’t want to hurt him. And he really didn’t want to lose him.This brew felt confused. He wasn’t sure what he was giving to Joe, but

he could sense it was what Joe needed - or maybe it was what he needed.

Either way, he poured a cup for each of them, and began to get ready for

the day.

Then looking at the thick dark beverage, he frowned.

“What is it?” Teddy asked.

“This isn’t right.” Jacob responded. “Would you drink this?” Jacob

turned the drink over in the mug to see that it didn’t pour out. It simply

held in the glass like it was pudding. “Well that’s not good.” “Can you get through a day without dosing your boyfriend?” Teddy

asked.

“I’m not dosing him. I’m just…maintaining what’s there.” Jacob

sighed. “But not this.”

“Not that.” Teddy agreed. “Try again later.”

“Yeah…Probably for the best.” Jacob responded.
