acknowledging Jacob was there. It had only been a day, but already Jacob
was feeling…something. Perhaps the eons of longing after Joehad made
the slide into infatuation far too easy for him.
After a few blocks, Joe still hadn’t said anything. The walk home in
silence was concerning because not only was Jacob terrible at
conversation, he was even worse at initiating.
“Thanks for taking me.” Jacob said. “I enjoyed the movie. Sort of. I
mean, as much as I could enjoy it, I did. Which isn’t nothing.” “Thanks for coming. I’m happy I could share it with you.” Joe said. He
looked as if he was about to say something when he stopped. There was a
sadness in his eyes that seemed to be screaming at Jacob, but he wasn’t
saying anything.
“It’s okay.” Jacob said as he stopped and held Joe by the arms in an
attempt to comfort him.
“What is?”
“You can tell me what’s on your mind. I know, I fucked up. I’m sorry. I
shouldn’t have- I just needed to-”
“I have a secret to tell you.” Joe began.
“What?” Jacob began.
“I - I never thought I would feel this way. I mean, I’ve felt this way
before, but I’ve never acted on it. I’ve never been able to be what I am now.
I- This isn’t something I should be able to do.”

“I had always thought my feelings were wrong but now- Now I can’t
imagine feeling anything else.”
