He supposed.

Now he was questioning lots of things.

Had Joe been flirting or had Jacob just been seeing what he wanted to

see? Was Joe still flirting or just enchanted? Was Joe still a pastor and

exactly how quickly was Jacob going to hell?

Many questions. No answers. All of them chaotic and stressful. He wasn’t sure how long he had been there looking up at Joe’s face, but

his shocked expression must’ve been concerning as, at this point, Joe was

making sure he was still alive.

“Are you okay there partner?” Jacob felt his insides contort. He’d never

been referred to as a partner before and now he was uncomfortable and

confused.

“Pastor?”

“Yeah.” Joe responded.

“Like...not the thing you do to milk, but like a god’s boyfriend type of

thing?”

“Well I wouldn’t put it that way…” Joe laughed. “I thought you knew.

I mean I wasn’t exactly subtle about it.”

“What do you mean? I had no idea!” Jacob exclaimed.

“The black shirts never tipped you off?”

“I thought it was a fashion choice! It looks very good on you by the way,

but how was I supposed to know that?” Joe looked at Jacob strangely,

before producing a white collar and adhering it to the front of his shirt.

“Oh. I see. I am starting to think I am not a particularly observant human.” “I’ve noticed.” Joe said. “See, I’m actually quite observant.” “I believe it.” Jacob shrugged. “Because ofcourse you are. You’re

handsome, and perfect, and observant…and a priest!”

“Pastor. But that’s not everything. I’m many things.” Joe smiled. His

warmth was contagious.

“Am I going to hell for the whole…you know…” Jacob gestured to

everything.

“No. No hell in the books. Not for being gay at least.”

“Good. And you won’t go to hell for being gay either?”
