“I’m not. I mean, I want to too, but…”
“Your past?” he asked, and I nodded, trying not to cry like the little kid I felt like.
“Then, we’ll just cuddle, but you’re too big to fit in this little bed, so pull yours over to mine and we’ll put them together.”
I jumped up and quickly moved the bed until it butted right up to Lysander’s, and as soon as I crawled in, he snuggled up against me. My cock immediately hardened.
“Wow, he’s glad to see me,” Lysander teased.
“He is, but this is really what I need,” I said as I pulled him close to my chest.
“Yeah, me too.” Lysander turned around and kissed me chastely on the lips. “Tonight, we’re gonna cuddle, and then tomorrow we’ll figure this out,” he said, moving his hand between us.
“Tomorrow we’ll figure it out. Got it!” I said happily.
When I was a little kid, I’d stayed with a couple with three Labrador Retrievers. I didn’t think I was with them for more than a month, but they had a huge pool in their backyard. The dogs and I would play for hours, jumping in and out of the pool.
Every night after supper, the dogs and I would lie in front of the television as my foster parents watched the news.
Holding Lysander in my arms as I fell blissfully asleep was like I’d felt curled up with the dogs. Like nothing could touch me. Like I was surrounded by love and acceptance.
I wasn’t sure if it was because Lysander was my polarity, as Dr. Grace had suggested. But if that was the case, I was really happy he was.
Chapter eighteen
Lysander
Iwonderedwhetherbeingin Kaden’s presence made me dream, or if it was because I was sleeping lighter than I would’ve if I’d been alone.
Kaden was sitting in a temple built into one of the mountains surrounding us. He was seated like an old Buddha statue in the lotus position. He was also the size of the ancient Buddhas.
The valley surrounding the temple was clearly rich fertile land and swarms of people were working the fields.
I wondered why he just sat watching instead of interacting. I moved toward the statue, but the closer I got, the more the people seemed to block me. At first it was just one or two people asking me nonsensical questions, but as I pushed forward, the crowds became thicker.
Eventually, people began to shove and push me, becoming more and more aggressive the closer I got.
Finally, I was knocked to the ground. When I looked up, Dr. Bisbee was standing over me, smiling. The pain hit my head instantly, and I screamed.
I woke with a start, Kaden’s arms still holding me tight. “Shh, I’ll never let them get to you,” he said.
I nodded before figuring out what he’d said. “Wait, did you see my dream?”
“Were you in a field with a bunch of jackasses that wouldn’t let you get to me?” he asked.
“Yep, that’s weird,” I said, then quickly sat up. “Wait, did you see my dreams last night too?”
He was silent for so long that I was afraid I’d offended him.
“Wow, so you’re peeping on my dreams, are you?” I asked, awake now.
He began to freak out, so I decided to turn things around. I called him a Peeping Tom and began tickling him.
“Oh, no, not cool, no tickling!”
“Yes, it’s totally fair!”
“Is that so?” he asked, and easily flipped my small frame on my back and turned the tickling back on me.
