Everyone stopped and gawked at J.D. as he was escorted out of the club.
Quar sighed. “I’m going to have to fill out an incident report. I’ll need Brant to tell me what happened.”
“Let me talkwith him first,” John replied. He looked at Brant, who was visibly shaken. “Brant can get together with you tomorrow, and you can write up your part tonight.” He turned to Brant, then walked away with him.
“You can take care of your paperwork now if you want,” offered a man wearing a leather hood. “I’ll handle the private rooms for a while.”
“Bo, that’d be fantastic. This is Forest. Where’sLarry?” Quar asked.
“He’s on his way over,” Bo answered before nodding at Forest. “Bo Olsteen. Nice to meet you, Forest.”
“Good to meet you,” Forest returned. Bo must be a Dom. He had the presence of one.
“If you’d like to speak to a sub about anything, Larry and Hank are two good guys to talk to,” Quar offered. “Two very different subs.”
“That they are,” Bo agreed. “Are you new to the scene,Forest?”
“Yes.”Now what?“Thank you for the offer, Bo, but I think I’d like to—” Forest looked at Quar and tried not to flounder, “do what we discussed.”
Quar’s smile shouldn’t have made Forest feel as if he’d just won some big award. He didn’t know Quar, and yet he wanted his approval—among other things.
“We can do that,” Quar assured him. “Bo, thanks for helping out. Forest, come with me.”
Forest shivered when Quar took hold of his elbow again. He liked that commandeering instinct of Quar’s.
That’s him being a Dom.Forest went hot all over as desire flicked along his nerve endings. What are we going to do? I need to tell him—
“Here’s my office.” Quar opened a door. “Go in and have a seat.”
Forest looked around for clues to Quar’s life as he walked in. He was curious abouthim.
Quar moved around him and sat in the chair behind the desk. “My home away from home. Let me just get this form filled out, then we can discuss what you want out of a scene and what I expect out. Unless you’d rather do that in a private room?”
Forest had been studying the photographs on Quar’s wall. He dragged his attention away from one he was certain was Quar and his family. “I’d likethat.” He sounded calm. It was a shame his anxiety sometimes got the better of him. “Are we going to have sex?” Forest groaned and closed his eyes. “Oh, my god. I can’t believe I asked that.”
“Incident form can wait,” Quar murmured.
Forest heard the chair scraping against the floor and knew Quar was getting up. He tensed then chided himself for being so stupid.
“Don’t be embarrassed for askingquestions, especially not ones that concern your body and what you allow to be done to it,” Quar said, his voice growing closer. “You’re an adult, and you control what happens to your body, or you should. Subs are in control. They can stop a Dom with one word. Anyone who thinks a sub is powerless is misinformed. Being proactive is a good thing. You want to know what will happen tonight, betweenus?” Quar took hold of his elbow and tugged.
Forest turned and opened his eyes, though he kept his gaze in the area of Quar’s mouth. “I do, but you should know—” Forest took a deep breath. He could use an anxiety-fueled babble right now, because thinking about what he needed to say and getting the words out was difficult.
But Quar would be proud of him for doing it. That realization spurredForest on. “You should know that I don’t have a lot of experience with sex. I’m not just a BDSM newbie.”
Quar’s mouth quirked up on one side. “Oh? Tell me what kind of experience you’ve had.”
Forest shrugged. “Just, you know. Hand jobs. Some kissing.”
“Some kissing?” Quar tugged and Forest found himself toe to toe with him. “I want to kiss you, Forest.”
“Anything you want, sir,” Forest offeredwithout hesitation.
“Anything?” Quar brushed his thumb over Forest’s bottom lip. “Be careful what you offer.”
Forest finally found the wherewithal to look Quar in the eyes. “I trust you, sir.”
And he did. There was no way he could explain it in a way that made sense because he hadn’t known Quar long enough to be able to make such a declaration. It was true nonetheless.
