Quar slid his hand lower, to the small of Forest’s back. “You’ve seen the center of the club. The private rooms are this way. Not all the rooms are what one might call private. We have our exhibitionists and voyeurs,of course, but anything sexual will be happening back this way, rather than the open area, and there are Doms and subs who prefer a safe and truly private place. Those rooms don’t have windows for viewing.”

“Okay.” Forest all but vibrated under his hand.

Is it excitement or fear?

Quar checked Forest’s expression.Definitely excitement.Forest’s lips were parted and his breathing had spedup. A blush stained his cheeks—and a semi-hard-on was pressing against the zipper of his pants.Nice.

Quar nodded to John, who was in charge of the room keys tonight.

John nodded back at him and opened the door to the hallway leading to the private rooms.

Quar and Forest entered then Quar stopped Forest. “Look at me.”

He waited until Forest did as directed.

“If anything makes you uncomfortable, speak up. I know there are plenty of stories about Doms being able to read minds, but we can’t. We read body language, and pay attention to our subs, learn what they like and don’t like, but I’ve yet to meet a telepathic Dom.”

“Yes, sir,” Forest replied. “It’s hard to look you in the eyes.”

“You’re a natural submissive, Forest, and you haven’t tried to hide your instincts, you’ve followedthem,” Quar pointed out.

“Is that good?” Forest asked.

“Very good, and rare,” Quar told him, enjoying that blush as it darkened and spread from Forest’s cheeks up to his forehead and down to his neck. “You’re someone to be treasured, not bullied and terrorized.”

Like J.D. would have done. Some subs were into that. Quar had taken one look at Forest out in the parking lot and, despite notbeing psychic, he’d known Forest was special. He wasn’t sure why at the time, but the way Forest just accepted his submissive instincts was something that called to Quar.

“Thank you, sir,” Forest whispered before giving Quar a shy smile.

“You’re welcome. Now, let’s see what catches your eye, or if nothing does.” Quar used his hand on Forest’s back to guide him farther down the hall. “You’refree to speak and ask me any questions you might have.”

Quar liked the shy smiles Forest kept sending his way. Quar had meant what he’d said to J.D.—someone as new to the scene as Forest didn’t need to be hit on and manhandled—yet. Being too aggressive could scare him off. Quar had seen it happen before to a sub who had been intimidated by a Dom. He didn’t want that to happen to anyone, anddefinitely not to such a self-accepting sub like Forest.

There was no denying that Forest interested him unlike anyone else ever had. Quar might even move past nursing his old wounds if it meant he and Forest could be something to each other.

Quar wasn’t going to put a label on what he wanted. He didn’t know if he could, but the hope formorewas there, and he’d be a fool to let it slip throughhis fingers.
