My internal system regulators try to lower my blood pressure and body temperature but I mentally shut them down.
I don’t want to be calm. I want to rage. I want to destroy. I want to rip him apart. I want to slice his face into pieces so small not even his mother would recognize him.
Instead, I go to my knees.

A soft sob comes from Tilly’s direction, the sound crushing my heart into something cold and dead.

A deep vibration shakes the floor. The wall to my left disappears in a cloud of smoke. The one overhead light flickers, then goes out, throwing the room in blackness.
