A crash ruptured through the lobby, and a shrill scream echoed off the walls. I was breathing so hard I couldn’t hear myself think.

A familiar snarl sliced through me like a knife.

“Tenebrous,” I whispered. Issa’s eyes widened.

“Bridget, if you know him, you need to go hide! The guards will take the monster out.”

My heartbeat skyrocketed.

I shot to my feet, gripping the edge of the counter for balance. His glowing runes blazed a few feet away, and my heart constricted. He was here to end me, but I couldn’t help the rush of relief.

“If you shut the fuck up and tell me what you want, we can solve this,” a gargoyle roared.

I stumbled around the bar, still holding onto it for balance.

“You havemyhuman.”

Tenebrous. Hearing those words again constricted my throat.

“I’ll slaughter everyone here if you do not. Give. Her. To. Me.” I couldn’t let anyone get hurt because of me. Tenebrous was one of those monsters that resisted change, keeping to themselves, those that viewed humans as food or a product to own. He was kill first, don’t ask later, so he didn’t care about learning more or trying to assimilate into anything he was not used to. I couldn’t blame him if that was his nature.

The gargoyle laughed, and my eyes widened. He underestimated Tenebrous’s ability.

“Stop,” I shouted, and shot off directly at him. His glowing eyes blazed and his runes flared brightly.

Looked like this was the end of the road for me.

TWENTY-THREE

BRIDGET

It would beover any moment.

Claws grazed my arm and continued around me until I was flush to a wide, hard chest.

He ... hugged me?

His nose dragged across my hair, and my eyes popped wide open.

“Human,” he said, hissing so low near my ear.

He trapped my arms at my sides, so I was just left gawking up at him. The knot in my throat throbbed as I took in the planes of his face. I couldn’t read his expression, but the way he touched me was almost reverent.

The muscle in his jaw fluttered. My legs swung side to side as he clasped me to his chest and backed away from the approaching orc.

“You’re not taking her. She belongs to Nikita.” Vane stepped forward, and Tene whirled so fast my head spun.

Another orc joined, and then three more monsters appeared, all surrounding Tene. My fingers dug into his shoulders.

“Mine,” Tene hissed, and the light leaked from his eyes, leaving them pitch black—scary. His claws sliced into my thighs, ripping my new shorts into ribbons. Tene forced my legs wide, onyx gaze not focused on me as he sneered at whoever stood in front of us. Suddenly, his glowing cock slammed through the shorts, tearing through them as he fed his bulbs into me.

“T-Tene,” I screamed, and struggled to breathe as I dug my fingers into his shoulders.

Claws pricked my spine as he held me to his chest. His warm cock pulsed in my pussy, and his tentacles fastened around my thighs, gripping onto me for dear life. Heat flushed through my belly, and my clit pulsed.

A moan crawled free, and the walls of my channel flexed. A low threatening hiss exploded from his mouth.

He was prepared to have me attached at his cock as he fought them.
