“Tresssspasssssed.” Goose bumps erupted over my body at the voice. The interloper’s words were deep and ominous.

A minuscule silence blanketed the space, and then I was dropped. A throb radiated across my back, sucking the oxygen from my lungs. I wheezed, trying to get a handle on what was going on. I rolled to the side and the stocky dragon dipped low and roared.

He lunged, clashing with a massive streak headed directly for him. It moved like lightning, then slowed, allowing me to see that the glow was a creature ... The creature slammed into the dragon, forcing him onto his back.

What in the world was that?

I scrambled to my feet and shook out my dress with trembling hands.

The thing had a humanoid body with thick bulging muscles lining his shoulders and tapering to his waist. Flowing white, blue-tinted hair whipped out behind him, and curved long horns poked out.

He was majestic in a terrifying, glowing sort of way.

I blinked, and my breathing stuttered as I staggered back. What was this creature? Glowing swirls embedded into his gray flesh flared with light as he tore into the dragon’s body like a lion ripping apart prey. While the dragon swiped, the other creature avoided the slice with ease. The interloper looked an awful lot like a demon. My knees shook and my chest constricted. This was too much. I knew monsters existed but seeing them live was a slap to the face.

His horns dipped, and he tore a chunk of flesh from the dragon. The viciousness should have sent me running. Why wasn’t I running, damn it!? I was stuck and couldn’t get my legs to function.

The demon’s wide back rippled with each movement.

Blue blood gushed from the dragon, and slurping caused my stomach to roil. The dragon stilled as its head lolled to the side, and its throat was put on display. Every part of me was locked in place as I gawked.

I staggered back another step as the demon ravenously ate ... and ate.Come on, work you damn legs.

My hands shook as the heel of my shoe wedged on something, and I fell back, slamming onto my ass. He whirled, and before I could blink, he was off the dragon and stalking toward me, his movements lithe. The closer he got, the more I realized how fucking big he was.

The shake in my hands spread to my whole body.

He had to be about nine and a half feet. I darted my gaze around, my stomach dropping to my toes.

He sneered, and sharp, bloody, dangerous teeth flashed. No wonder it was easy for the huge monster to tear into the scales of the dragon. It would be like slicing into a stick of butter to him.

He slowed as he made his way to my side. The shape and bend of his arched, toeless feet optimized his ability to get on all fours.

My heart rate kicked into high gear, making it more difficult to breathe. He was going to kill me. My teeth clicked with how hard I shook, and I blinked tears out of my eyes.

My toes curled inside my old flats as I readied to push off the ground. I had to try to run, but what was the use, he was freakishly fast.

A movement behind him caught my attention. I screamed and pointed over his shoulder at the other dragon dashing toward him. The demon whirled, jerked his hand up, and sliced through its mouth with his claws, impaling it shut. Blood leaked from the wounds, down his arm, and puddled at his feet. The smaller dragon’s eyes flicked side to side, agony in its depths.

In a jolt upward, he ripped the lower jaw off. I was used to violence; I grew up seeing it, but this was on another level. A grainy taste of sawdust coated my tongue. Shit, I was on the verge of hyperventilating.

Still, I couldn’t rip my gaze away. The dragon’s eyes rolled back, and the demon withdrew his blood-drenched claws free from the torn meat and shook his hand, splattering my cheek with remains. I was going to pass out.

I could not move a muscle—paralyzed by fear.

He returned his attention to me. His cheeks were sharp and angled, along with his jaw being tight and sloped. He had only a slit for a mouth, and his horns arched out of his forehead and stretched up and back. Even with all that, his glowing eyes were the eeriest. A bluish tint that also spiked out in jagged lines around his eyes.

The color was the same as the curves swirling on his flesh. It brightened when they did too.

How was a monster so ripped? Muscles were everywhere, and the indent of abs tapered to a narrow waist where ...

What was that?

I mean, I got it. Yes, it was his cock, but it didn’t look like any cock I’d ever seen.

The bulky, dangerously long appendage had bulges wrapping from the base to the tip. There were about four thick ... curves, wound together like rope?

It was the last thing I should be intrigued by, but I had the strongest urge to touch it.
