His screams land on unsympathetic ears.

The sound cuts off when I take his head between my hands and break his neck. His body crumples to the ground.

When I glance around, Athletic is nowhere in sight. Bomber hasn’t moved, so he’s either knocked out or dead. Or too afraid to move. I don’t really give a shit which.

Five strikes of my boot do the job of caving in his skull. Now he’s dead for sure. Message sent.

I leave their bodies on the sidewalk for their people to find and clean up. Hopefully theirpakhanwill take it as a warning not to fuck with me again.

With that inconvenience out of the way, I continue into the cemetery. It’s quite a hike to the Pontrelli family plot. The short, wet grass whispers beneath my boots. Twisted, budding trees dot the landscape. My breath fogs in the chill night air. Spring is supposed to be approaching, but fuck all if it feels like it.

Using my phone’s flashlight feature, I find the graves I seek.

Lorenzo Pontrelli. Matteo Pontrelli.

Ever since Ravenna confided in me about her abusive family, I’ve been itching to visit these assholes one last time. She told me about her brother on our honeymoon. It wasn’t until later that I found out how her father treated her at home.

If they were alive, I’d kill them both again, slowly, painfully.

Unfortunately, they’re already dead, and reaching into the afterlife isn’t in my skillset. But I can do the next best thing.

Unzipping my fly, I take my flaccid cock in hand. “I hope you can feel this all the way down in hell.”

With a grunt, I piss on their graves.

You deserve so much worse, you motherfuckers.

CHAPTER 29

Cian

“You miss your sister.” I observe the way my wife perks up at my statement. It’s been obvious for weeks now that Ravenna’s having a hard time with the distance between them. They really are that close. That kind of family bond is beyond my experience, but I like the fact that she has it with her twin.

Ravenna sets her hairbrush down on the vanity, and turns to face me. “I do miss her. This is the longest we’ve ever been apart.”

I walk up to her and slide my fingers through her silky auburn hair. I’ll never get enough of the simple joy of touching her—her hair, her skin, her palm in mine. Her body curled against me as we sleep at night.

“I want a honeymoon with you. A real one this time, with my wifeRavenna, not her twin sister Elena.” My hand curves around her delicate throat, feeling her pulse. “I was thinking we could go to Italy. You could spend time with your sister for a couple of weeks, then we could have a week in Rome all by ourselves. What do you think?”

“What do I think? Yes! Please. I’m ready to leave right now.” She jumps up and hugs me.

I laugh, then bend down and capture her lips with mine. “We’ll leave tomorrow.”

“You already made all the plans?”

“I figured the chances of you sayingyeswere pretty high. Turns out I was right. Now go pack.”

She bounds toward her closet. I swat her ass on her way by, and she rewards me with a giggling yelp.

My chest squeezes. I love making this woman happy. I want to do just that, for ever and ever.

Happy wife, happy life.Whoever first said that was on to something good.

I head downstairs to finish up some business. Wolfe’s waiting in my office when I get there. His brawny arms crossed, and he wears a familiar scowl.

“Who pissed in your cereal this morning?” I ask him, moving around my desk.

“You did.”
