“Wait ‘til you see what I’ve got waiting for you in there.”

Intrigue shone in her eyes as she looked over at the door next to us. I’d arranged a little surprise in Lou’s dirty, dark playroom. Something I knew she was curious about.

“Well, are you going to show me or fuck me in the hall?”

I was tempted to do both, which I showed her by grinding my hips to press my cock up against her. But…sometimes the wait was better.

Setting Marnie back on her feet, I wrapped my hand around the doorknob. “You ready Little Bird?”

“Always.”

That’s my girl.

I swung the door open and motioned for her to enter.

The brunette lying on the bed in the center of the room sat up and smiled when we walked in.

“Marnie, this is Amy.” I waved my hand, motioning at the other girl. “Amy, this is Marnie.”

Amy’s eyes lit up as she soaked in my gorgeous Little Bird. “She’s cute.”

Marnie wasn’t so eager.

“Preston, what is this?”

“This is playtime,” I explained. “I get to tell you what to do.” I would always tell her what to do. “But you….” I wrapped my arms around her waist and whispered in her ear, “You get to tell her what to do.”

Now, that news piqued her interest.

MRS. GRIER

Mrs. Grier

Six Years Later

I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warm sun on my face. The atmosphere in town was fresh and extra crisp as if new life had been breathed into Ashen Springs. And in a way, I supposed it had.

A child’s laughter carried through the air, bringing a smile to my lips. All my children were here. Pride filled my heart as I looked at each one of their faces.

Micha Kessler was over by the picnic table holding his two-year-old on his hip so his wife could get something to eat. I remember how he walked down the hall with his nose in the air like he didn’t have a care or worry in the world. But look at him now. The way he stared at Riley, one might think the sun and moon shone from her eyes.

He even went into the gallery business for her. Though, I suspected Riley was happy running her uncle’s tattoo parlor. That girl never put much stock in money, which was how I knew she was a perfect fit for Micha. She taught him humility, and he taught her to trust herself.

“Stay away from me!” A little girl with the same black hair and navy eyes as her mother sprinted across the grass.

“Don’t be such a crybaby, Verity.” A little blond boy, who was the same age, chased after her. “It was just a kiss.”

Verity spun around to give him the same glare Riley used to give her father. When he was close enough, her leg shot out and promptly kicked him in the dingleberries.

The little boy dropped with a groan.

“Shake it off, Colton,” Logan Hudson called out. “You gotta be tougher than that when chasing stubborn pussy.”

“Hey, asshole,” Micha growled. “That’s my daughter.”

“Right.” Logan slapped him on the chest, then yelled, “Don’t forget to buy her flowers after.”

I shook my head. Some people never changed. He had matured some because he had to take over his father’s company.
