His sigh is heavy and light at once, somehow.But when he looks at me again, his eyes arealllight.

“Fine, I’ll use my fucking blinkers,” he laughs anew.

I grin into cracking up again too.Finding his hands, I lace our fingers together.“Oh, this is the best day.”

He lifts our hands and kisses the backs of mine, then thumbs at my ring with happiness shining in his eyes.

“Yeah, it is,” he says.“Until all our other best days come along, that is.”Now he kisses my ring.“Damn it, I love you, Magnolia.”

My heart is full—until he finds new ways to make it fuller yet, as he always does.“I love you, Luke.”

We shift into him only holding my left hand, and we walk to the restaurant, ready for dinner.

And, really, ready for the rest of our life together.

Our beautiful, exasperating, silly, surprising, awesome life.

Maggie and Luke.

I look at him, and he looks at me, and we share another utterly radiant grin.

Maggie and Luke—then, now, and forever.

That is beautiful, indeed.
