“She looks like a queen,” I say, the perfect name already set in stone. “Attina Oceane Daire. Our little wolf of the sea.”
“That’s perfect.” Nerissa’s lips curve at that, tired but radiant. As if she understands, our daughter stops smacking her lips and looks up in my direction. Not quite a steady gaze, but there’s recognition, and then toward her mom before blinking a few times. The haze in her eyes clears a little more with each movement, revealing violet eyes that flash gold for a brief second.
Wolf’s fire flaring in her siren gaze…
“Did she just…did you see…?”
“I did.” Chest puffing as the proud father I am, I bend and place a gentle kiss on Attina’s head. “Love you and your mother, little one.”
“And we love you, Alpha.”
The gods may bend fate, but today they simply made room—for our blood, bond, and a daughter who will dominate both the land and sea as a siren and wolf.
The End…ForNow.
