I wait to see if Axel follows her, but his door doesn’t open again. What the fuck did I just witness?Did they actually stop fighting their sexual tension and fuck? I can’t wait to give them shit for this.

I walk down the stairs and through the clubhouse where it’s surprisingly empty. Sometimes when you walk downstairs after a party, you’ll find members and club sluts passed out on any available surface. Tonight, they seem to have all made their way to a room.

I walk into the kitchen and fix a plate of leftovers from the fridge. Thankfully, Chef makes too much food and there is always something to eat here. I grab two bottles of water aseverything heats up and then head upstairs and back to our suite. Axel’s door is still firmly closed as I pass it.

I punch in the code to our suite and walk to our room, closing the door with my foot behind me so we don’t wake up Hazel while we talk. Everly is still in bed, but she’s slipped on my discarded t-shirt and has the sheet pulled over her lap.

“You’re not going to believe what I just saw,” I tell her as I put the plate of food on the bed and hand her one of the water bottles before climbing in.

“What?” She asks as she untwists the cap on the bottle and takes a drink.

“Wren was walking out of Axel’s room, her heels were in her hand, and her hair was a mess.”

Water spews out of Everly’s mouth, and her hand shoots up to cover it. She watches me with wide eyes. “What?”

“Looked like the walk of shame to me,” I tell her with a shrug.

“Oh my gosh! Do you think they finally crossed that line?”

“It sure looked like it,” I tell her with a laugh before grabbing a chicken wing from the plate.

“How can you eat after dropping that bomb on me?” She laughs.

“I can always eat, baby,” I smirk at her.

She rolls her eyes. “What do you think is going to happen?”

I shrug. “I don’t know. She saw me and she told me to shut up. It might not lead to anything.”

Her shoulders slump. “I don’t know. I think this is just the beginning for them.”

EPILOGUE

ROWAN

Today is a huge day for our family. Not just because Hazel is turning one year old, but because our adoption papers are final.Hazel is officially Hazel Williams.

Everly and I got engaged a few months ago and I asked her if she would be okay with me adopting Hazel when I asked her to marry me. I don’t just want Everly in my life. I want Hazel too and I want them both to share my last name.

We haven’t heard anything more from Travis’ family or Laura, and Lenny said there was no issue with us going through with the adoption. Now, I can officially call Hazel my daughter, even though a piece of paper didn’t make that real for me. She was mine from the moment I saw her, just like her mom.

Today, we’re having everyone at our new house for Hazel’s first birthday party. We moved into this house a few weeks ago. We know that we want more kids someday, so the two-bedroom house we had just wasn’t going to cut it in the long term. We found a house close to where my brother’s house is. It’s not far from the clubhouse or the school and it has a big yard where Hazel can play.

My brother and I spent one weekend building a big playset for her. It was an early birthday present from him, and sheloves the swing. He’s a big sap for his niece and an even bigger sap for his daughter. Grayson was already a sucker for Asher, but it’s worse with his daughter. She has everyone in that house wrapped around her finger. Her brother included.

The house itself has four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms with a large kitchen and living area, a dining room, and a finished basement with a media room. It’s an old house that was remodeled but still has the character that was built in decades ago. Everly and I fell in love with it as soon as we walked onto the property. I can see us sitting on that large porch in rocking chairs watching our kids play.I see our future every time I look at her.

We spend the day with our family and friends watching our daughter play and shove her face into her chocolate cake. We open her presents even though she’s more interested in the boxes and bags that they come in. Who knew that a kid’s birthday party could be so exhausting?

My family sticks around to help us get everything cleaned up and then they say their goodbyes, leaving us to get our daughter ready for bed. Hazel makes me read her three books before she finally settles down for the night. I tuck her in and give her a kiss on the cheek before going in search of my woman.

I find her in our bathroom removing her makeup. I stand in the doorway and stare at her for a moment.

“What are you staring at?”

“You.”

She snorts. “Why?”
