“Yeah.” Raelynn looked down at her feet. “Sorry Daddy Will. Me and Jer didn’t mean to wake you…but we’re excited that you’re back home.”

Will sighed, his heart melting in his chest. “I’m happy to be home.” He patted the bed next to him. “Why don’t you kids come snuggle with me while Uncle Eli makes lunch?”

They didn’t wait for any further invitation before scrambling up on the bed next to him. He grunted dramatically when Jeremy’s elbow found his ribs. “Watch the elbows, little man.”

“Sorry Daddy Will.” Jeremy snuggled down next to him on the right while Raelynn curled up next to him on the left. Which left a rather amused Eli standing in the doorway, just shaking his head.

“You’re not fooling anyone, Willem William. You’re a total softy.”

Will arched his brow and gave a subtle nod toward the closet. “That’s not what you said the last time we…”

Eli flushed. “And now I think it’s time for me to go make some lunch.” He turned to head back downstairs. “Behave!” he called over his shoulder before he disappeared.

Willem chuckled. He wasn’t sure who that ‘behave’ was aimed at, him or the kids, but in the end it didn’t matter. He was home with his family and that made everything right.
