Next is Auntie Cat, her skin coated with her own musk. “Sweet, sweet girl,” she murmurs as I suck her fingers clean.

And then it’s only Uncle Jasper and Juliet. I meet Uncle Jasper’s surprisingly tender gaze as he lifts his finger to my mouth. “Welcome to the family, Little Natalie.”

With my eyes locked on his, I take his finger between my lips, sucking hard and swallowing him down. And my heart swells in my chest as his smile spreads to a grin.

Because it no longer matters how I came to the island or what my intentions were when I first got here. Now, I’m one of them.

I’m part of the family.

Chapter Eighteen

Evander

The morning after our first family dinner, I wake to find Natalie sprawled across my chest. Naked but for the diaper I put on her after our third round of lovemaking the night before, she’s a beautiful mess with her hair a frizzy halo around her head. It’s almost a shame to wake her, but a glance at the clock tells me it’s time to get going if we don’t want to be late.

“Time to rise and shine, kitten,” I say softly as I give her arm a gentle shake.

Nose wrinkling, she shakes her head, wiggling on top of me as if she can somehow get even closer. “Don’t wanna.”

“I know, baby. You had a long night. But we don’t want to be late for your first day of school.”

“No school,” she protests with a whiny moan.

“Yes, school. If you’re a good girl and get up, Daddy will let you have a donut with breakfast. Papa went and got some fresh this morning just for you.”

More spoiling, but who am I to deny the man who practically raised me the right to spoil his “granddaughter”?

At the mention of donuts, one emerald eye opens. “Donuts?”

“Yes, kitten. But only for good Little girls who get up when Daddy says.”

“I’m up, I’m up!”

She tries to roll off the bed, but I manage to snag her around the waist, pinning her to the mattress beneath me. “First things first. Have you used your diaper yet, little one?”

An adorable blush blooms on her cheeks as she shakes her head. “No, Daddy. Can’t I use the potty like a big girl?”

“What do you think the answer to that question is going to be?”

She scrunches up her face like she’s giving the question some serious consideration. “I think it’s going to be yes because babies don’t go to school. Only big girls go to school. So if I’m big enough for school, I’m big enough to use the potty.”

I can’t fault her logic, and it’s enough to make me laugh even as I slide one hand down to her stomach to press on her bladder. “Try again, kitten.”

Sighing in that overly dramatic fashion she has, Natalie squeezes her eyes closed and soon I’m rewarded with the sound of her filling her diaper.

“Good girl. Time for your bath, then we can get you dressed for school.”

“And donuts,” she reminds me, her gaze serious when she opens her eyes again.

“Of course. And donuts.”

The school uniform isn’t… awful, I decide as I study my reflection in the full-length mirror in my nursery. The navy-blue skirt is a bit shorter than I would like and shows off my diaper every time I move, but I already know there’s no point in arguing about it. It’s paired with a white dress shirt with a ruffled collar tucked beneath the suspender-style straps attached to the skirt. Black Mary Janes and white socks with ruffles at the top complete the outfit and the longer I stare at myself, the cuter I think it looks.

“Time to go, kitten.”

Daddy joins me in the reflection, filling the mirror with his wide frame and my breath catches in my chest. He’s wearing a suit, as always, but for some reason seeing us together like this in the mirror really drives home how much larger he is.
