“Then I’ll deal with it.”

“But—”

I kiss her again. “He’s a nonissue. A piece of shit who’s spent too long harassing women online and off.”

“Off?”

I nod and tell Ivy about the alleged stalking situation. “And she’s probably not the only one.”

“That doesn’t surprise me.”

“Me either.”

“Seriously, though,” she says, pulling out of my embrace. “I don’t want to be the reason you face any public backlash or damage to your career.”

“Baby, you’re begging for me to put you over my knee. Say any more bullshit like that again and you’re going to need a pillow for that ass during our flight.”

“I’m being for real.”

“So am I when I say anything that does or doesn’t happen to my career is a direct result of my actions. I knocked the hell out of Dennis James because he’s a piece of human waste and deserved much worse. I’ll accept full responsibility on that account.”

I tighten my hold around her waist.

“Now, can we stop talking about that bastard? Because right now the only opportunity I’m missing out on because of you is the chance for another orgasm before we have to get ready for our flight.”

Ivy finally agreed to come to Williamsport with me.

“Andreas!” Ivy shouts when I lift her over my shoulder. “Put me down.”

“Hush!” I order at the same time as I smack her ass. “We’re going to settle the rest of this in the shower. Damn, I’m glad I chose to have the bench installed when I moved into this place.”

CHAPTER 34

Ivy

“Andreas,” greets the beautiful Black woman with grey and dark brown sisterlocks forming a braid over her shoulder.

I watch as she embraces Andreas with such affection that I’m almost taken aback.

While Andreas isn’t the spitting image of his mother, the resemblance is enough to give it away. It’s the warm, welcoming shine in her brown eyes that actually reminds me of Andreas the most, despite their different eye coloring.

“I’ve missed you,” she tells Andreas as they pull apart. “Why didn’t you let yourself in?”

Andreas frowns down at his mother. “Dad warned all of us to knock on any door before entering. Especially now that we’ve all moved out.”

His mother rolls her eyes. “You know he’s out playing golf right now. Besides, your father was joking.” She swats his arm.

“Dad doesn’t joke,” Andreas says. “All of us have at least one story of accidentally walking in on you two.” He shivers. “I don’t ever want to be traumatized like that again.”

“Andreas James Townsend!” she says, pushing his shoulder. “Watch your mouth.”

He laughs before taking a step back and wrapping an arm around me. “Speaking of inappropriate behavior …”

I gasp and look up at him.

“Mom, this is Ivy.” He looks from me to his mom. “My future.”

My eyes grow wide, but when I look at his mother, there isn’t shock or even anger on her face. Just that same warm smile.
