“We’re going to stay at Thornbury Castle, a gorgeous old castle in Bristol which is now a fancy hotel. Giant, drafty old rooms made of stone where kings and queens once stayed. Quaint little town.”

“You know how I like stone rooms.” My cheeks warm at the memory of what we did in Eilean Donan Castle last summer and at two other castles since.

“I do. Unless you don’t want to go to a gorgeous, cozy castle for a romantic weekend with your boyfriend-slash-roommate?”

“Hmm, not sure. It’s a tough call.”

Ethan rolls his eyes and hands me his phone, where pictures of Thornbury Castle are pulled up. I gasp.

“Still a tough call?”

“This is amazing. Unless there’s like a foot of snow on the ground and it’s too cold to leave the room to appreciate the castle.”

“Unless that would make the weekend even better.” Ethan waggles his eyebrows, then takes a finger and runs it under my chin, turning my mouth up to him, sending tingles down my spine.

“That would definitely make it better.”

I close the short distance between our lips and shut my eyes as we make contact. I’ll never get over the way his body feels against mine, the way my heartbeat speeds up when he’s near, the way my mood soars just looking at him.

And this happily ever after? I don’t think it has anunlessattached to it.
