“After thirty years, I feel like it’s time for us to shake things up. From now on, I’m the dramatic risk taker and you’re the calm voice ofreason.”
“God help us,” Bas said, and Drewlaughed.
“Fine. We’ll play this your way,” Bas finally said. Reluctant didn’t begin to describe his feeling about this, but he also knew Drew was right. “We’re stronger together,right?”
Drew pressed a kiss to his lips, soft and gentle. “Right. And when this is over -whenBas, notif -we are absolutely taking that monthoff.”
“I’m holding you to that,” Bas said against Drew’s mouth. “But for now, let’s go home and ring in the New Yeartogether.”
