“Yes, please,” she says, her breath getting more shallow as I press into her and take a nipple in my mouth. Her hands grip my hair tightly as I suck and swirl the tightened bud with my tongue. “Ryder, please,” she whimpers.

“God, I love it when you beg.” I reach down and center myself before plunging into her. She tightly wraps around me, and I groan when I’m deep inside of her. “Jesus, you’re so wet for me. You take me like I was fucking made to be in you.”

“You were made to be in me. No one else, Ryder.”

“You’re mine, Eve.” I grab her ass tighter and growl when her heels dig deeper into my back.

“Oh, God, I’m close, Ry.” She pants as I go harder.

“Let me feel you squeeze me, baby. I want you to drench me.” I feel her start to pulse around me as she cries out. Her tight pussy clenches me as I pour into her over and over again. Tremors flood my body as I give her all I have.

I keep her pressed against the wall as we come down from our high and try to catch our breaths.

“I think your apartment just got one hell of a christening.” She giggles against my neck.

“OUR apartment,” I correct her. “And yes, we definitely broke it in right.”

“I love you, Ry.”

“I love you too, Eve. Forever.”

“Forever,” she whispers.

I wake with a start, breathing heavily. My bare chest is soaked in sweat as I try to catch my breath. It’s been a while since I’ve had an intense dream like that. I had one almost every night for the first year and would wake up reaching for her only to find the bed empty as reality came crashing down on me. I glance at the clock and see it’s almost five.

My dick is hard and throbbing as images of my dream come back to me. “Fuck!” I yell into the empty room. Why is thishappening again? I’m trying so damn hard to move on, and she keeps… fucking... haunting me. Groaning, I throw back the covers that are tangled around me, knowing I’ll never be able to get back to sleep.

My dick throbs again, forcing me to put my hand around myself to ease the unbearable ache and wishing it would remove the one from my heart as well. I close my eyes while I stroke hard and fast. I try to picture Mackenzie with her brunette hair and brown eyes. Anything that is real to hold onto, but auburn hair floods my vision as her blue eyes burn into mine. I finally give in to what my body wants…and what it wants is her. All it takes is images of her, and I’m cumming fast and hard as a tormented moan escapes my lips.

A deep sadness overtakes me and I blink back the tears. I refuse to let them fall. I gave her too many already and she’s not getting anymore. I head to the bathroom and clean myself up before throwing on some gym clothes. A run on the beach and a hard workout should help clear my head. I’ve got three days until my date, and I’ll be damned if I live in the past for the rest of my life. I need to erase her from my memory once and for all, and it starts with a kiss that I intend to get on Saturday night.

CHAPTER FIVE

EVE

Iwalk into the house, and my parents are frantically running around.

“Just grab what’s important, Gayle. We have to be able to fit everything into a suitcase.” My father barks at my mother.

“I can’t possibly fit everything I need into one suitcase.”

“Damn it, Gayle. I don’t have time to argue about this.” My father walks past her into his study.

I hug my sleeping daughter tighter against my chest. My gut tells me something is wrong. We were at the park all afternoon before we grabbed dinner on our way home. I swear she could eat mac and cheese every night if I let her. She was out like a light as soon as we got in the car.

“Oh good, you’re home,” my mother says when she notices me standing there. “I need you to pack a suitcase for the both of you. Your father has arranged for us to leave first thing tomorrow morning.”

“What are you talking about? Go where?”

“I don’t have time to explain. Just be ready at six.” She takes one of her favorite vases off the shelf. The stupid thing probably costs thousands of dollars.

“I’m not going anywhere,” I say quietly, not wanting to wake my daughter.

“You don’t have a choice,” my mother says with a heartless laugh that sends shivers through my body. “The house is being taken from us. The bastards froze all our bank accounts, too. Your father owes a lot of money, and there’s talk he may face prison time. We can’t take that risk. He knows someone who can get us new passports. We are picking them up on the way to the airport. We’re just going to lie low for a while until this all blows over.”

“You are out of your mind. You can’t just leave and be on the run for the rest of your life. If they find you, it will only be ten times worse than if you would just stay and deal with whatever comes. Where are you even going?”

“The less you know, the better. You’ll know soon enough when we get there. You never liked living here in Seattle anyway. The place we’re going to is warm and dry. You’ll love it. Do you honestly think your father would survive in prison? They would eat him alive. This is our only chance of starting over.” She brushes past me to look through some drawers in our foyer for anything worth taking.
