I half expected Locke to have some witty retort to that, but his only response was to finish undressing and slam his lips onto mine, pulling me tighter against him.

Ho-ly fuck.

My lips parted as his tongue plunged into my mouth, and I kissed him back just as fiercely, my eyes stinging at the relief that he was back with me. Withus. By the time he finally broke the kiss, I gasped, only just remembering to breathe.

“Locke,” I whispered as his hard length pressed against my belly. “But your arm?”

“It will heal soon, but right now I need you,” he replied, surprising me with the vulnerability in his tone. He lifted me effortlessly, his hands gripping under my ass as my legs went to either side of him. “When I was out there, all I thought about was you,” he rasped as he rocked his hips, sliding the length of his cock along my center. “And your expression when I left.”

I tried not to think about the lump growing in my throat as Asher came up behind me, pressing in close. “Told you he’d torture himself for it,” my demon murmured in my ear, his hot breath making me shiver.

Locke’s gaze hardened at the comment. “Even after the tower, I couldn’t come straight back here. There were more gargoyles trapped around the city, and we had to save them. But it didn’t matter how many lives were spared, all I thought about was you.” He thrust inside me, and I whimpered as his cock buried deep and his clawed fingers pricked against my ass while he was careful not to pierce my skin.

Asher reached around from behind, his hands squeezing my breasts, and his chest acting like a wall for me to press my back against. As if he had been waiting for Asher to position himself, Locke gripped me tighter then, and his slow thrusts picked up speed until he was fucking me so hard I could hardly breathe. Asher’s firm hands helped to keep me steady, and I cried out, my inner muscles clenching at the relentless pace. The world seemed to still around us, and my body heated, the water turning to steam as it connected with my skin.

“Asher,” I gasped in alarm, worried that I would hurt them both, but my demon only kissed my hair.

“You won’t hurt us, sweetheart,” he said reassuringly. “Your creature won’t let you.”

My dragon relished the attention, and I felt the sensation of her claws raking along the walls of my mind as if she was warning me that if I didn’t take Locke’s cock like a good girl, she’d come out and play.

“Then he’d better fuck me harder,” I breathed, and Locke gave me a vicious smile as he began moving so fast I’d hardly registered the thrust before he was thrusting again, hitting a spot so deep inside me I reached my hands back and grabbed onto Asher’s shoulders for support.

“I might understand why you left us,” I told Locke through a moan, “but force me to stay behind again, and my dragon will eat you.” I’d meant the comment as a joke, but as the words left my mouth and my dragon roared internally, I suddenly wondered whether it was true.Fuck. Dragons don’t actually eat their males, do they?I knew of insects that did that, and truthfully, I knew nothing about the beast I’d become. The thought made my body tense as I panicked, but Asher reached around, his thumb rolling my nipple and sending an extra line of pleasure straight to my clit and distracting me.

“She could try,” my demon chuckled. “But you’re not the only monster here, Sharachi.”

I grinned, my worry easing.Right. Because they’re monsters, too.

Locke grunted as he thrust, and my skin sizzled, the steam around us so thick now that I could hardly see him. “You won’t hurt us,” Locke snarled. “Because you’re ours, and your dragon knows that.”

At those words, I cried out as I shattered, my toes curling as stars burst behind my eyes. Locke roared his own release, jerking as he spilled inside of me. When his muscles relaxed again, he lifted me off him, and Asher helped lower me to the floor. Neither of them released me, and considering the fact my legs were shaking, I was glad.

“Ash is right, by the way,” Locke said, running his fangs lightly along my shoulder. “Now that you’re a monster your blood smells even more enticing than it did before.” I shivered at his touch.

“Told ya,” Asher said.

I grinned. “That goes both ways. You monsters really do smell good enough to eat.” As if to prove my point, my stomach grumbled loudly. “See.”

Asher’s expression softened. “You need rest. I’ll hunt for some food. Locke, you bring her to the room. The others will point it out.”

At that, Asher stepped from the spray of the water and grabbed a towel from the rack against the far wall. Wrapping it around him, he snatched up a clean pair of clothes Lyr had left on a low bench and strode straight into the hall without putting them on first, closing the door behind him.

The moment my demon was gone, I turned my attention back to Locke, my mood changing as reality came crashing around me and I thought of the wounded shifters and gargoyles beyond the door. “None of this is going to end well, is it?” I said quietly.

Locke’s gaze darkened, his black eyes searching my face. “I’ll never let Warrick touch you again.”

I took a shuddering breath, feeling the intensity of Locke’s stare. “It’s not me I’m worried about.”

CHAPTER 4

~ Raine ~

IawokesandwichedbetweenDarian and Kade instead of nestled between Asher and Locke. At some point, my monsters must have switched places while I’d slept without me noticing. I would have been annoyed if I didn’t feel so good. My dragon loved sleep it seemed, and I burrowed back into my monsters’ arms, feeling like a dragon retreating to her lair as the tantalizing scents of sandalwood, coffee, sea salt, and patchouli made me feel at home. The bed in the guest bedroom was large and easily fit the three of us, but my siren and wolf shifter had their limbs sprawled on top of me like they were determined to trap me there. Which suited me just fine.

Grinning, I contemplated giving them both a rather pleasant awakening, but my thoughts sobered when my mind went to the wounded monsters beyond the room. We were so fucked. Sighing, I closed my eyes. It had been chaos from the moment we stepped through the portal and returned to Katakin, and this was the first time I’d had a moment to really think.

If I could unearth the secrets Prince Azaren had embedded in my mind when we were in the fae realm, I could figure out how to break the curse over the monsters. Then we might have a fighting chance. Warrick would lose his outliers and his power over the monsters of Katakin. Sure, we’d still have to deal with the fae, but unless we found a way to stop the outliers, we were all as good as dead.
