I tilt my head to the side. “I thought you didn’t know who he was?”

“I didn’t. I had to look him up.”

“Oh, well if it makes you feel any better, he’s even sexier in person. He’s tall. I couldn’t exactly see what he had under that suit. Based on his size, he’s got muscles. His skin is a light, golden color, his hair is jet black, and he has icy blue eyes that’ll cut right through you. He’s clean shaven, but he looked like he could grow a pretty thick beard. His voice is deep and rich like chocolate,” I say, now daydreaming.

“Okay, you cannot date your boss.”

I snort. “Seriously, did you miss the part where I said he was a massive dick?”

Beth laughs. “Good.”

“I gotta get back to work. At this rate, I’ll be here all night.”

“Okay, well, don’t work all night. You’ll need your rest to put up with him again tomorrow,” she jokes.

I groan. “Thanks for reminding me.”

“Bye.”

“Bye,” I whine, dropping the phone onto my desk.

I feel like banging my head off it repeatedly, but I refrain. Instead, I just flip the page in my notebook and find all the little doodles I made earlier. I drew pictures of eyes and lips, probably because I couldn’t stop staring at his. Then in the bottom corner is a little drawing of a tiny penis. I laugh. At the time of drawing that, I was thinking he must be overcompensating for something with all his orders and demands. Seeing it now has me in a fit of giggles.

Chapter Six

SHEPARD

It’s been a week since my meeting with Destiny and I can’t wait to see everything she’s ordered and prepared. I had to go back to New York for some important meetings, but I’m now back in Colorado and can’t wait to get back to work with Destiny at my side. I’m not sure which I like more, seeing how annoyed she gets when I ask for something specific, or just seeing her in general.

I only met the woman a week ago and already she’s filling every free spot in my brain. I can’t help but picture her green eyes, her luscious lips, and the way her ass sways from side to side as she walks. I’ve thought of nothing but feeling those long legs wrapped around my hips and it’s led to too many showers in a day.

On my drive to the ski resort, I reach out and ask her if I can come by and check out her progress. After twenty minutes, she finally gets back to me and agrees. I check the address on the card she gave me, and I put it into the GPS. I’m pulling up out front of her office a little while later.

I open the door and find her behind her desk. She looks up with a smile, then sees it’s just me, and the smile falls. I wonder why she hates me so much already, but I have a feeling it’s because of the way I want things for the party.

“Good afternoon,” I say, walking in.

“How are you?” she asks, pushing her chair back and standing up.

I get a full view of her now. She’s wearing a yellow dress that’s sleeveless, low cut, and ends above her knee. Not exactly work appropriate, but I’m not judging. “Good. I just made it back to town and I wanted to see you. You have anything to show me?”

She nods. “Right this way.” She leads me to a door and when she opens it, I see nothing but stacks and stacks of furniture.

“What is all of this?”

“Oh, this is my supply room. When I’m planning a party and don’t have a space to put everything where it goes, it gets stored in here.” She leads me down a winding path through furniture, boxes, and totes.

“These are your tables. Don’t judge. They don’t look like much, but they’ll have tablecloths. Your chairs are there,” she says pointing at more stacks. “And I have the white slipcovers here.” She opens the box and shows me. Everything seems fine so I nod.

“Here’s the tablecloths,” she opens a box and pulls one out to show me.

“Ugh, I thought we said crisp white?”

“This is white,” she says, drawing her brows together as he looks at the tablecloth in her hand.

“That’s off-white,” I point out.

“No, it’s white,” she argues.
