Eyes wide, I shake my head. “Jensen…”
“I love you, Peach,” Jensen says quietly. “I love the way you stand up for yourself. The way you fight back—not just for yourself but for the people you care about. I love how dedicated you are to your work. How hard you try for others.” His mouth quirks into a smirk. “I love that willful nature of yours and the fact that it’s going to take me at least a hundred years to fuck it out of you...” Catching my trembling hand in his, Jensen pushes the ring onto my finger. It fits perfectly. “You, Sloane. No one else... only you. Always and forever. Will you marry me?”
“It’s peach,” I finally manage to croak out on a watery laugh. Letting his gaze fall away from mine, Jensen’s brow crumples when he looks at the peach-colored center stone in the ring on my finger.
“Holy shit, it is.” Barking out another laugh, he looks up at me. “That settles it, Peach. You’re marrying me whether you want to or not.”
Leaning into him, I press a soft kiss against his mouth before pulling back to look deep into his beautiful, mismatched eyes. “Then I guess it’s a good thing I want to,” I tell him, my mouth spreading slowly into a wide, giddy grin. “Besides, you’re my grilled cheese guy. Who else is going to feed me at 3AM?”
“No one, Peach.” Leaning in, Jensen whispers it against my lips. “No one else but me...”
