Instead of moving away, he grins and pulls me closer.
Jax raises an eyebrow at Elijah before bursting out laughing.
“You’re a goner, my friend.”
I sense Elijah’s grin before he drops a kiss on my neck. His loss of inhibitions in front of our friends and family causes something to shift within my chest.
Jax winks and I realise.
He’s not the only one.
CHAPTER 54
ELIJAH
Pen snuggles into my side as we watch reruns ofThe Office.
“Your mum called me this morning,” Pen says. “Apparently, the fundraiser raised more this year than ever before.”
I chuckle. “Nothing, of course, to do with The Foundation’sposter girl’soffering all those additional internships,” I reply, dropping a kiss on her head.
“Or the fact you then copied me and added some of your own.”
“Ah, I couldn’t be outdone by my girlfriend.”
Pen freezes in my arms, her head tilting so she can look me in the eyes. “Girlfriend, huh?” she says, her eyes twinkling as she stares at me.
I drop my lips to hers, my heart rate settling back to a normal rhythm.
“Well, if I was to give us a name,” I say.
Pen chuckles. “There are many names we could use to describe us, but girlfriend, I can get on board with.”
“Pleased to hear it, Ms Dawson.”
I take her lips with mine, deepening our kiss. She melts into my body. We fit together perfectly, and I can’t get enough of her.
“I love my daughter, but I’m glad we have the next week together.”
It’s been hard with Lottie around to find time for us. She’s accepted Pen and I are together, but we’ve been careful not to overstep. The last thing either of us want is for her to feel like she’s in the way, or gross her out.
But the thought of a week where I can have Pen in my arms and back in my bed whenever we want, has my breath quickening and my skin tingling at the thought of her not holding back as she comes around my cock.
“Did she get to Dani’s?” Pen asks, bringing me back down to earth.
“She did. She messaged me to say she’s arrived and Dani’s dad is taking them to the airport in the morning. I’m not sure why I couldn’t have taken her, but I’m trying my hardest to let her have some independence.”
I was disappointed when Lottie told me what she arranged. I wanted to see her off before she went to visit her mother for her birthday.
“She’s growing up fast. Don’t take it personally. I know Dani’s parents live close to the airport. It’s more like the girls will be up all night chatting and want a lie in.”
I pull Pen back against me. It helps to have a woman’s perspective. Especially one who knows my daughter so well.
“Pen, did my father know about your hacking?”
Pen freezes in my arms.
“What? Why?” she asks. “That’s a strange thing to ask me.”
