She nods and then extracts herself from my lap.“We should go inside before my dad shows up.”

“I’m heading to the office for a bit.I have a few things I need to catch up on.”

I make sure no one is looking. Then I give her a quick kiss. Her face flushes, but she smiles.

TWENTY-SIX

The Week Before Las Vegas

Abi, Seth, and Mae

Abi: Who’s ready for Vegas baby?!

Mae: Nope. Not even close.Too much to do.

Seth: We should bring Levi so he can meet his raving fans.

Abi: No way.As soon as he finds out, he’s going to put an end to it.Those raving fans need more.

Mae and Seth

Seth: You know.I keep expecting you to turn up here after midnight and you never do.

Mae: Because you sent me a message three days ago explaining exactly what will happen. In very explicit detail. And maybe I’m too embarrassed.

Seth: What do you have to be embarrassed about?

Mae: Because…ugh…I’m not explaining it to you.

Seth: If you’re not ready for that, just say the word.I still want you to come over.We could just kiss, you know.I miss kissing you.

Mae: *Looks at clock.* It’s only 10:30.I’m on my way.For just kissing though.I’ll leave before midnight.

Seth: And if you don’t?

Mae: You’ll know I want what you promised in your message.

All the brothers plus Abi

Levi: All the bidets are finally installed.Do people really use those things?

Seth: Try it.You have no idea what you’re missing.

Ethan: I really didn’t want to know that about you. That’s imagery I cannot get out of my head.

Noah: Seth’s right.They are amazing.

Ethan: Again, TMI.

Mark: How many people are going to be here for the hideaway weekend? And are they all going to be divas?

Isaac: $20 says they all try to sleep with Levi.

Levi: That bride went after you first.I was just leftovers. My money’s on you.

Noah: No way. They’re going to get one look at Ethan’s man bun and tats and go after him.

Seth: You know, we could do a date auction with all of you.I bet we could raise a few grand that way. Thanks for the idea.Be ready Friday night.Shirts optional.
