“Holy shit. I love that idea,” Emma said. “I think Caroline would go for it too. She’s said a few times that the only negative part of the deal for her was that Twisted Stitches wasn’t in Riverton.”
“You definitely need to talk to her tomorrow about opening up a second location,” Lucas said.
“You’re freaking brilliant, Lucas Wright,” Emma said.
“I really am,” Lucas said. “You should probably take me home and show me exactly how brilliant you think I am with a thorough fucking.”
Emma laughed. “Okay, but I need to shower first.”
“Ooh, shower sex…we haven’t tried that yet,” Lucas said.
“Safety bars need to be installed before that happens,” Emma said.
Lucas roared laughter before gathering her against him and kissing her. “I love you, Emma.”
“I love you too, Lucas.”

Lucas lethimself into Emma’s house, closing the door firmly behind him. “Em, where are you?”
“Kitchen,” she called.
He shrugged out of his jacket, blinking in surprise when two kittens, one a brown tabby and the other a gray tabby, streaked down the hallway toward him. The gray one pounced on his foot and then climbed his leg. He plucked it off his leg, holding it against his chest. He muttered a curse when the brown tabby attacked his leg, its sharp claws sinking through his jeans. The kitten in his arms purred loudly and kneaded his arm.
The brown tabby climbed his leg, clinging to his shin as he walked into the kitchen. “Em? Why am I being attacked by kittens?”
Emma turned from her spot by the sink and laughed. “I came home from my meeting, and they were here.”
He set the gray kitten down and peeled the other kitten off of his leg. The kittens jumped at a sound only they could hear and streaked out of the kitchen, their tiny paws as loud as a herd of elephants against the hardwood.
“Is this a thing?” Lucas asked. “Do I need to be prepared for kittens to appear out of nowhere?”
“Is it a problem for you?” Emma asked with a grin.
“Nope,” Lucas said. “I like cats. I just didn’t realize I was dating a woman who could conjure them up at will.”
She laughed and wrapped her arms around his waist. “Rayna must have brought them over while I was in my meeting.”
“Does Rayna often stash kittens at your house?” he asked.
“It happens more often than you’d think,” she said. “How was your day?”
“Who cares how my day was,” he said. “How did the meeting with Caroline go?”
“She loved the idea. She didn’t want to commute from Riverton to Harmony Falls every day, so the idea of opening a second Twisted Stitches location was very appealing to her,” Emma said.
“That’s fantastic!” Lucas hugged her hard before kissing her. “We need to celebrate. Did you eat dinner before your meeting?”
“No, I was too anxious to eat. How about you?”
“Nope. My meeting with Stark ran long, and then I met Nix and Connor for a quick beer.”
He squeezed her ass. “Grab your jacket, and I’ll take you for a celebration dinner. Maybe The Whiskey Grill or Urban Cuisine?”
“We could go for dinner,” Emma said, “or you could eat my pussy, and if you make me come hard enough to scream, I’ll order your favourite pizza afterward.”
That gorgeous Lucas grin - the one she loved so much - spread across his face. “You have yourself a deal, Ms. Richardson.”
