Mind hazy and body acting on instincts alone, I could only focus on the way he held me, the way he demanded more and more with his skilled hips.
More warmth flooded my system, and before long, I was panting harder in between moans, losing myself completely.
“That’s it…let go for me,” Damien urged me, keeping up his deep, rough pace while his arms wrapped around me and his palms settled against my back. “Let me see how good I make you feel…”
His words sent a shiver through me, and without warning, through the onslaught of intense sensations, I hit my peak as my whole body tightened.
Clenching around him, I came undone, gripping him and the sheets beneath us. My thighs trembled through my release, and for a moment, I couldn’t see anything at all. The near-blinding pleasure and the snap of that pressure inside me were all I could focus on.
Damien was close behind, thrusting as he went over the edge and spurred me through my orgasm. He groaned and clutched me tighter, bracing through the waves and pulses of him filling me. His hips eventually slowed until they stopped altogether, but his hold on me didn’t ease.
Slumping against him, I caught my breath and tucked myself against his neck, savoring the bliss that surrounded me, along with his arms.
At that moment, everything felt so perfect.
Even if our lives had changed so quickly and would never be the same again, knowing we could steal those moments for just the two of us and still find that passion in each other was all the reassurance I needed.
I relaxed as Damien’s hands gently ghosted up and down my back, heightening the sensation post-orgasm.
After a moment, he chuckled. “I don’t know about you, but I could chase that with another nap.”
Amused by the words, I hummed and lifted my head to gently kiss his lips. “I wouldn’t complain.”
“Good. Because we aren’t going anywhere.”
Kissing me again, Damien held me close and gently ran his fingers through my hair. Once he broke the kiss, he carefully held the back of my head to keep me in place while he looked me over with his blissed-out gaze.
A beat of silence moved between us before his voice reached me again, low yet full of affection while his eyes searched mine, and his gaze seemed to convey so much more than words ever could. “Marry me.”
Pausing to process the words, I mentally stumbled before managing to get the words out. “You’re…serious?”
“Incredibly serious,” he returned gently with a faint grin. “Will you marry me, Sky?”
As I digested his question, letting the reality of it sink in, my expression softened, and I felt as the heightened emotions moved through me with ease. Nodding, I smiled back at him. “I will…absolutely.”
With his pleased expression, he gently ran his fingers through my hair before kissing me again, allowing his raw emotions and appreciation pour into it.
“I love you,” he murmured against me, lips graced with a tender smile.
With a wash of warmth and contentment, I mirrored his expression and gently brushed my nose against his. “I love you too.”
Not leaving any room for doubt, Damien pulled me back in for another kiss, and I knew he meant it.
The bed was going to be sick of us by the time we were done with it.
