Hudson chuckled.

“Eliza,” Rhonda answered with enough attitude to let him know she wasn’t stupid.

“Do the guys bother her? Is she seeing any of them? Who makes sure she walks out to her car safely?”

Again, Hudson laughed.

Dewey shot him a shut-the-hell up look, but that made him laugh harder.

“Why don’t you just make a move?” Hudson asked.

Because last time, she’d rejected him. “She’s Juliana’s little sister.” And, because of that, he’d keep his distance. “I just want her safe.” And he’d make sure she stayed safe.

Next Wednesday, he knew exactly where he’d be.
