“Let me go get washed up, and I’ll be out,” he said.

I looked down. “I could change too.”

“No way,” he said. “Well, unless you really want to. But I want to fuck you in that outfit at least a couple more times before the night’s over.”

I smiled. I had a feeling this costume would be a good idea. The short skirt. The suspenders. The top that dipped down to show an X-rated amount of cleavage. I could never wear this for Halloween, but that was okay.

But instead of heading toward the bedroom, he came toward me and pulled me against him. “I love the hell out of you,” he said, looking down at me with a smile.

He knew how I’d been about profanity when we first met. He’d even offered to temper his language. But I’d insisted he remain true to who he was. Besides, I liked that rugged side of him. I’d been a good girl long enough. I was making up for lost time.

As Grayson headed to the bedroom to shower and change into a clean outfit, I sashayed into the kitchen and grabbed plates to set the table. I was a very lucky woman. And all because I nearly burned down my dad’s cabin. Who would have thought that would have led to lifelong love?
