“She had one rule, Trey. After every fucked up thing that’s been in the papers about you since you two got together, she's stuck by you, so there's only one reason she left. Drug test every three days.”

“Yes, sir.” I stand up to take the cup off the desk. “I didn’t take anything—I’m not that stupid to fuck up my career.”

“And Sky?”

I shift on my feet. “I love her. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt her.”

Coach leans back in his chair. “Sit back down. What happened?”

I take my place on the chair in front of him again. “I don’t know, but someone set me up. I woke up this morning with two women in my bed, coke on the nightstand, and I have… I have no idea how it all got there.” I look down at my hands. “Sky came over while I was still sleeping, and I didn’t even get a chance to explain. She ran into Derek and told him that she was done.” I lift my head. “I went to the hotel to speak to her, but…” I lick my fry lips. “Calvin said that there was no way she would listen, and…” I tap on the cup, then stand. “This won’t affect my game, coach.”

“You’ve never had your heart broken, Trey. It will affect your game. But, just so you know, I do believe you,” Coach says, and gestures to the cup. “But this is protocol. Because of your history, I have to test you.” He stands up and walks over to me. “You’re going to have to give Sky some time. I take it Derek’s traveling to England as we speak?” he asks, and I nod. “You message her if you need to, try calling her, but if she doesn’t want to talk, then she doesn’t want to talk.” I go to say something but coach puts his hand up, “Trey, trust me. You love her, she stood by you, that means she loves you, too. But, she thinks that not only did you cheat on her with two women, which is already unforgivable, you did the one thing she said she wouldn’t accept in your relationship—she’ll need some time, you have to give it to her.” He wants to say more, and I have a feeling I know what he’s going to say. “Trey, you have to be prepared that she might not take you back.”

I take a deep breath. “I know, coach, I know,” I sigh. I leave his office and head into the locker rooms.

I already thought about Sky not forgiving me; not wanting to talk to me again. I know that she might not ever come back in my life, but I’m going to try everything to win her back.

Chapter 18

Sky

I can’t believe Trey did this to me. After everything, making us public, he did this. I can’t get the images out of my head; I can’t shake the thought of him doing all that when he was with me only a few hours ago.

As soon as Calvin got on the minibus, I told him that I didn’t want to know what Trey said to him. There was no way I was going to listen to anything he has to say to me. I’ve believed and trusted him so much, and this time, it was right in front of me. There was no way out for him.

Calvin called Dave to let him know what was happening, as he was trying to call me. I switched my phone off the moment I got in the taxi to go back to the hotel.

My parents got the news about Trey and me, and were knocking on my door at all hours in the morning. I told Calvin to tell Dave to give them the money and I'll pay him back the moment we land, but I know that it’s not the last I’ll see of them. Dave has also given me some personal time; I need it.

I need to get over Trey—I need to fix myself. I was already in England this week, so he's given me the next week off, which giving me three weeks to stay home. I know that Trey can’t travel, as the season has started, so this is just what I need.

“Finn said he'll be at your place by the time we get there, and he’s brought food and wine. I think you’re going to need it.” Calvin pats my leg and gives it a little squeeze. “You'll bounce back from this, you’re strong.”

“I love you, Calvin.” I face him give him a smile.

No matter how hard my life gets, he's always there to pick me up, just like I can for him. I'll drop my life to be there for him.

“Sky—”

“I don’t want to hear anything he has to say. He fucking cheated on me, Calvin. Two fucking women were in his bed, naked, and if that’s not bad enough, he also…” I wipe the tears away, I’ve cried enough for him. “I told him how I felt about drugs, but I guess he lied about that, too.” I look at Finn’s name appearing on the bluetooth screen.

Calvin presses to answer. “Hey, babe, you’re on speaker,” he says.

“Hey, Sky, how far away are you?” he asks.

“Two streets away, are you there?”

“Yeah, um, something's happened,” Finn says, and I look over at Calvin.

I knew my parents would do something, I just knew it.

“We’re turning into the road,” Calvin says, then ends the call as I look over at my house.

Calvin parks up, and Finn walks over to us. “You deserved better than him, Sky.” He gives me a big hug, and I wrap my arms around him.

“Do I want to go in there?” I ask. This isn’t going to be good, I can feel it.

I make my way to my house, and see the locks have been broken into. I shake my head as I look around my house.
