She sends an air kiss to Jason as I come to terms with the reality that I'm standing in front of a girl I used to worship when I was seven, only to notice the four members of Transcendence, including their crazy hot lead singer Harry Voss, with his sexy black hair and his dark, kohl-lined eyes. Then I see Paul Reich—solo guitarist—and Nanee Laumer, who just started an incredible line of shoes. If someone had asked me for the top ten most successful young people of our time, all seven present would have made the cut.

They're huddled on the floor like wayward children. I half expect to see that they're playing with marbles, but when we approach, I notice a bottle on the floor.

"Who's the pretty lady?" Harry fucking Voss asks, presumably referring to me, given that he's staring my way.

He said I was pretty, and if I were the dramatic sort, I could faint.

"This is my Nadia." He tugs me closer.

"Nadia!" Sarah Dee beams. "Lovethe dress. I bet you're the reason we haven't seen much of this boy around for a while."

Jason shrugs and answers for me. "She's new to the club, and I don't play without her. She owes me a game, though. What's the poison tonight?"

"Seven minutes in heaven." Nanee reaches for the glass cola bottle in front of her and twists it between her middle finger and her thumb until it moves in rapid circles.

The motion slows and finally stops, pointing to Harry.

"No, no, no, thatdoesn'tcount." The Transcendence bass player, Jeremy Hault, glares at Nanee. "Jace and Nad weren't seated yet. Plus, it's fucking boring, as you two are together anyway."

They are?

I glance between the hot-ass singer and the petite, warm honey-skinned beauty. "God, you're going to make pretty babies." My words spill out before I can help it, and the entire group chuckles.

"Neither of us has time for that, but we totally would," Nanee concurs.

Jason lowers himself to sit between Jeremy and the drummer, Oscar, who shifts to make enough room for me. "Thank you. So, what are the rules?"

"What, you’ve never played spin the bottle?" Sarah Dee dramatically widens her eyes. "Were you completely neglected as a child? Blink twice if you need help."

"I'm just guessing your rules are a little different than the ones we followed in third grade."

"Not really, no." Nanee giggles. "You spin the damn bottle, you get seven minutes in heaven with whoever it's pointing to."

"Just not in the closet," Harry says, winking at me. "We like to watch."

Jesus. My lips are suddenly so very dry, and I have to run my tongue over them. "All right. Sounds like fun."

A hell of a lot of fun.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

Nanee gets a second turn, and this time the bottle points to Sarah Dee. I gape and most of the guys clap. Jeremy pumps his fist in the air in a universal sign of victory.

The two women are no less enthused.

"Right, you know the rules. Seven minutes. If one of you comes, one point, if both of you come, three points. And absolutelynofaking."Harry is all business. "We'll set the points back to zero, since we have newcomers."

"What? That's not fair!" Nick, Oscar's twin, and the second guitarist and violist of Transcendence, has a serious pout. "You're only saying that because you were losing!"

"We'd only played three rounds." Sarah Dee rolls her eyes at him. "Unless you don't think you can come again, old man."

He shoots her the finger.

"All right, timer’s ready when you are." Harry has a finger on his watch, waiting for a signal.

"You wanna drive or ride, gorgeous?" Nanee asks the actress.

"It's your spin. You're the one in charge."
