AIDEN
“Where are you taking me?” she chokes out as I hop onto the interstate. “I’d rather you’d have killed me back there.”
I furrow my brow at her. “What?”
“You heard me,” she says, meeting my gaze. Her baby blue eyes are the same color they’ve always been, reminding me of an ocean I’ve rarely seen. “I don’t understand why you’re here.”
How can she even ask me this question? Did I not tell her that I would be back for her? That I would get her out of this mess?
For some reason, I don’t answer her right away, the frustration gluing my lips together. I should be patient with her. I mean, maybe she’s just a little shocked, but she also fought me as if I was going to hurt her—and I don’t understand. I’ve never hurt Sara.
“Aiden… You don’t have to do this.”
I add a little pressure to the gas pedal. “I made a promise, and I’m keeping it.”
“A-a promise?” Her questioning sends a flame of anger through my body, and I tense my jaw. Has she forgotten?
Clearly.
Part of me wants to explode on her, but I know that I have to keep my cool. I need to get her home, show her what I’ve built for her—for us—and then maybe she’ll remember.
I take the exit off the interstate and head north, until I reach spread out estates, all complete with towering mansions and wrought-iron fences. Sara’s silence loses some of its tension as she peers out the window at the homes. She looks as if she’s in awe, and I would normally smile at the sight. But my head is still unhappy with how things are going between us thus far. I wasn’t necessarily thinking that she would jump up and down with excitement—but I wasn’t expecting this, either.
Finally, I reach our place. The house isn’t completely visible from the road, and it just so happens to be the largest estate in the area. The grounds are manicured, mature trees sprinkled out across the park-like scene, and I glance over at Sara to gauge her reaction.
Now, that makes me smile.
She looks shocked that we’re pulling into this castle of a house.
“Where are we?” Sara squeaks out the words like a little mouse.
“Home,” I say, letting the pride seep into my words.
Her eyes widen. “This is where you live? We used to talk about having a house that looked like a castle…” Her voice trails off, and she immediately presses her lips together, giving the illusion that she had done something wrong by speaking openly with me.
“This is where we will live, yes. I’ve been working to get it just right for you.” I reach over and rest my hand on hers, but she rips them away. Okay then.
I hit the garage door opener on my visor and pull in, thankful that the house is empty for now. I have someone who cooks and cleans—and Carlos is sometimes around. But no one else comes here. This is where my family will be, and I don’t want my business finding its way into these walls.
I turn the engine off and hit the close button, seeing the apprehension building once again in Sara’s face. My cock stirs at the sight of her, and as soon as I climb out of the car, I spin around to adjust myself. She has no idea of how close it’s been to slipping inside of her… But I remember.
The motion lights illuminate the garage, and I make my way around to the passenger side. As I open the door, my eyes take in her bound wrists. Fuck, she looks like a prisoner. Her pajama shorts are also so short, and I catch a glimpse of her black underwear.
I reach across her and unbuckle the seatbelt. She catches her breath as my body brushes against hers, and I smile. She can play the game, acting as if she hates me, but her body betrays her. I know she wants me. She’s always belonged to me, and she always will. It’s just that simple.
“Aiden, can you take these off?” Sara asks me, holding up her bound wrists. “They hurt.”
I eye her warily as I help her out of the car. “Let’s get inside first.” Her cheeks redden as I grab her elbow, leading her toward the entrance of the mudroom. My gaze drops to her round ass as she walks, and I imagine my cock, sliding between her cheeks and every hole she’ll give me.
My dick throbs in my jeans as I close the garage door behind me. Sara freezes on the gray tile floors. The mudroom is lined with windows overlooking the ornate garden in the courtyard. It’s a little excessive for my taste, but I know how much Sara loves gardens and courtyards.
“You like it?” I ask, dropping her elbow.
Her lips part, her chocolate locks falling messily past her shoulders. The cute dimple in her chin beckons for me to touch her pretty heart-shaped face, but I hold off, seeing the uncertainty in her eyes.
“Not like it?” I breathe out a sigh as she continues to stand there like a beaten dog. Yet again, this isn’t the reaction I expected from her—and now I really am getting pissed off.
“It’s beautiful, but I can’t stay here. I don’t want to stay here.” She turns to me, her blue irises icy as they take me in. “I need to get back home to my mom—to my sisters. Now that my uncle is gone, my stepdad will take it out on them.”
