Standing over the dead body of a young woman in a seedy part of the city wasn’t the best way to start my day. My partner and I were baffled as to why a beautiful, young woman wearing a sequined evening gown had been so carelessly discarded. She had been a contestant in a beauty pageant.

I’d been a homicide detective for many years, and dealing with tragedies took its toll. Performing as Onyx Storm—my drag persona—helped balance a life many could never comprehend. It worked for me.
My boyfriend, Craig, was a private investigator. From the moment he’d seen me perform, we’d been inseparable. Struggling to express my feelings openly, even a simple handhold strained our relationship.
Our professional lives crossed when he worked a case involving a cheating husband, and I worked the mystery of the dead beauty contestant. Not only did we have two deadly investigations, but another young woman had mysteriously disappeared.
Then an attack on Craig sparked something in me. The deep-seated love I felt surfaced, and I knew I couldn’t live without him.
As our investigations progressed, we realized that someone from our shared past was behind the pageant disappearances.
Could our relationship survive my realization that I’d been a fool for three years? I only hoped he would stick by me.

Beneath the Beauty is a spicy, suspenseful MM romance about two men whose search for the truth puts their love on the line. As they investigate the pageant world’s darker underbelly, our heroes’ hearts are tested. Mystery, intrigue, and murder will have you rooting for their HEA.
