Ghost is hiding in that crowd because the man who just gave Caleb the order is the one the Steel Phoenixes are hunting. Then Caleb looks straight at him across two hundred screaming strangers, and Ghost holds the look two seconds too long, and the man he’s after spots him first.
Two enforcers hit the floor, and then Ghost is riding out of the pit with Caleb pressed against his back, and for the first time he can remember, his head goes quiet.
Now Caleb has two weeks before he walks back into that ring, or his brother pays for it. And Ghost, whose whole life is about leading the way, has to stand outside in the dark and let him.
