Marlowe will do anything for a taste of revenge—even if it means returning to Camp Atonement. Haunted by nine years of entanglements with a pious woman and chasing knife-edged solutions to her anger, Marlowe meets her on the lake for a final tryst.
Their night unravels when a creature from the depths begins hunting them. Abandoned again, Marlowe feeds the resentment crawling under her skin since that one summer. But escape brings with it a heavy price—her chance at easy retribution is gone, and the monster’s sharp teeth and webbed hands breed a terrible thirst she can’t ignore.
